Ok wise ones, need to ship a wheelset in 2 dirty great Hope wheel boxes. Whom am I going to use without needing to sell body parts?
Greatly appreciated!
Paisley freight have a bike wheel courier service…
^ for balance, Paisley Freight just delivered a bike for me. Didn't turn up when they said they would and damaged parcel en route
Someone here said it depends on your local courier, so if you are anywhere near DY3 I'd avoid.
Parcelforce - £7.00 a box and then insurance from Securus.
Hermes. No wait, hear me out. They do a service called Large and Light which is only available through third parties (parcel2go or parcelmonkey, can't remember). Just make sure it's insured.
Shipped a couple of weeks with Evri the other day. Relatively cheap (£6ish per box), dropped off at the shop and they print the labels for you. Got there no drama.
They seem to have got better!
As long as the overall measurements are under something like 245cm (Add together the 2 shortest dimensions and multiply this by 2. Add the length and if the number you get is less than 245 then you’re good to go)
I always use parcelforce. Never had a problem. Pretty cheap as well.
Thanks folks, I’ll take a look at those options and report back
Another vote for avoiding Paisly Freight at all costs.
.
I sent one with Parcel Force a few weeks ago, cost £9 and turned up at the other end OK, easy to do at the post office.
