I sold an item which was collected on the 15th November.
The buyer hasn't received it and has raised an item not received flag. Don't blame him.
Of course the courier is Evri (one's worst nightmare). As I bought the package label through
ebay, can I claim through them or do I have to deal with the courier directly?

Any advice appreciated.
What service did you use and how long after you booked on eBay did you actually hand it to the courier? (EDIT just noticed you said collected on 15th Nov - that’s ages ago! ) What was the delivery estimate you offered when selling?
As it’s still being tracked (up to yesterday) I would suggest it’s not lost and will actually get delivered at some point in the next couple of days.
You need to raise it through Packlink, there should be a link to follow on the original e-mail confirming booking.
They actually will raise a ticket and respond to it, and return e-mails. Not instantly, but more than I was resigned to.
The couriers and parcel services are completely over-whelmed, it’s probably sitting in a depot somewhere. The fact that the tracking is still active suggests it’s not lost.
It'll still be in the system. I'm waiting for one that still has active tracking from 3 weeks ago.
Raise the lost item though packlink as it takes ages for them to agree it's lost anyway. (I once did it direct and it took ages for them to agree it was lost but stated case closed and to repeat through the reseller (packlink) which eventually was successful

To date Hermes have 'lost' a pair of walking boots and a petrol lawn mower. I know they've changed to Evri, but I'd be amazed if their processes have changed.
I thought that I had a good idea about what was going on by looking at the tracking info until I spoke to the newsagent where I dropped the item off. She told me that the drivers don't always scan the items that they collect, so 'tracking' isn't really tracking.
Now, you would think that a petrol lawnmower would be able to be found.... No 🙁👎
Sadly, you need to be chasing the insurance. If it didn't have any, you are wasting your time (IMO)
Had a similar one myself. You’ve got to phone Evri and sort it out with them!
Go through Packlink, I've had Evri / Hermes lose two of my sales in the last few years and both times they've been very efficient at sorting things out. I used the live chat both times and got a refund / compensation within a couple of days.
