Recently ordered a Samsung laptop from Comet online. It was described as coming with 2 x 750gb hardrives.
Laptop arrived on monday, but upon going through the set up it was revealed to only contain 1 x 750gb hardrive. Called their customer support, who agreed that their website said it came with 2 x 750gb HDDs and arranged for another one to be sent out to me. It arrived this morning.... with 1 x 750gb HDD again.
I know the reason for this: Samsung have produced 3 differently spec'd machines using the same product code (RF711 S06UK); 1 with 2 x 500gb HDD, 1 with 2 x 750gb HDDs and 1 with 1 x 750gb HDD. Knowing this was the reason that I ordered from Comet in the first place, as they were specifying the 2 x 750gb model online. They have now amended their website to show it only comes with 1 x 750gb (I took a screenshot of the old description when I phoned them on monday).
Before I phone them up again, where do I stand? If they are unable to deliver the item as described am I only entitled to a full refund?
If they are only able to supply the model with a single drive, what more can they do other than offer a full refund - what do you want them to do?
Disks are likely to be in short supply for the next few months - all the factories are in Thailand, and they've all been flooded.
IIRC retailers are allowed to make mistakes - so you can get a refund but no more I think. Might be worth neg'ing a discount?
TJ will probably know.
refund - what else do you want? If they have not got it they have not got it
750 gb,bet you dont actually get to fill it before it breaks 😆
Can they give you a free external drive? 750gb should be more than adequate.
