Some friends are doing a charity bike ride and would like to be able to post real time updates to a map on their facebook page.
I've been looking for apps that will do the trick, but I have a feeling that GPS + updates to FB will be a real battery killer. They'll be doing 7 hours of riding per day.
Any recommendations would be great.

Google Latitude, does uploaded tracking, other than that FB posts with location tags or instagram photo map?
SPOT tracker is what you want. Works everywhere (even with no mobile signal), great battery life, and they do all the facebook integration now too.
