No, I buy the mag, I like paper...
And I don't mind advertising, it's when it makes the site almost unusable that it's a pita..

you probably need to tell them what OS/browser etc you're using. Looks like a CSS type issue to me.

[edit] just saw it's an ipad!

Oh... yuk... how simply frightful! I'd forgotten how bally awful the site must look to the common peasantry

Still... no better than they deserve 😉

Strange, my ipad has never shown the side ads or any pop-up with it's native safari.
Try a different browser? (chrome for ipad?)

I've reported the post, hopefully one of the tech guys will get chance to look at it shortly. Contrary to popular belief, the adverts aren't intentionally intrusive!

Probably worth repeating this, too:

Just subscribe then, it's cheaper and no ads.

I don't want to subscribe, I like the freedom to pick and choose,
And I'm frightened of commitment...

pop out ads.

that's more likely to be a browser issue/plug in at your end.

Khani - I blame the fact that you have the Telegraph in your favourites list.

I reported annoying ads with music and didn't get a reply. What was the point of that?

Doesn't mean no-one's looking at it. It's not always practical to send out individual replies to everyone.

My understanding is that errant adverts are non-trivial to track down, might take a little while.

The auto play videos were getting annoying. So I paid up to remove the ads 😉

Though I'm finding now every session I have to log in again, even though I tick the box to remember me. It used to do that now and again, but now it's every time. And that's on Chrome, IE 11 and Metro IE (yeah, yeah, Windows 8 😛 ).

It's only £1.49 a month to get rid of the ads.

I get that, have to log in remarkably often for a system which offers to remember you!

Clear you cookies out, I get asked to login about once a month.

re: logging out, I constantly have to re-login. Its remembered me overnight on my Chromebook, but thats rare; on my Android phone, a works Windows 8 laptop, and my old Windows 7 laptop, always having to log back in before it lets me post. Thats with trying various combinations of 'remember me' checkbox on singletrack, and remember password option on the browser.

I'm having to log in almost every visit.
I just logged in with remember me ticked. I then closed my browser, re opened it and needed to log in again.
I have recently installed IE11 so I wonder if I need to alter something in the settings?
Update: I just repeated the above steps and did not need to log in. It seems a bit random.

I have same prob as OP and it's new. The whole site becomes v unstable on iPad mainly due to new type of pop up adverts using that comes across the bottom of the screen. Makes the pages jump around and the site unusable. It looks like a big to me.

Oddly with the having to log in every time issue, today that's gone away. I haven't done anything. No cookies cleared etc. Though maybe it just comes and goes.

Hopefully the tablet ad issue will go away now. It took us a while to track it down as first we have to replicate it and there's few actual web tools to use on an iPad so we have to run desktop emulation until we get the error.
..But yesterday we did replicate it and we identified the network responsible. There shouldn't be any ads floating at the bottom of the page for tablet and mobile users - That was the first odd thing we noticed. Turns out it was a network running ads in one of the zones in the RH column that was set to bust out of it's zone and force and overlay ad to appear. I THINK I've solved that issue now but it may take an hour or two to be sure.

Still happening on my iPad (14:00ish).

I think that a good use of my afternoon in a far to warm office will be to check back every half hour or so and see if it's stopped 😉

Still happening on my iPhone and iPad (safari). It's a bit annoying but I'm not a paid up subscriber so just quietly sat in the corner suffering this torture.
