Morning All,
I'd like to get a cheap action cam for riding and paddleboarding however am not in a position to weigh out a few hundred quid on a Gopro. Given the plethora of clone copies available and me having £60 in Amazon vouchers to play with, can anyone point me in the right direction of sensible option please?
TIA 🙂
I've currently got a Crosstour CT8500 (don't think you can actually get this model anymore) from Amazon. It will do 4K/30fps although the EIS will only work at 2K/30fps.
Seems fairly decent for the money. Not sure that the stabilisation (EIS) is particularly effective but I've improved it a lot by replacing the Garmin chest harness with a Stuntman harness.
I like the wrist strap to turn record on/off.
As a lot more expensive actioncam I want to get an Osmo Action but their prices have shot upmassivley in the last few weeks.
I got an SJcam SJ400 or similar back in the day, mostly for skiing, I realised how pedestrian almost all my skiing was and how hard it is to create an interesting looking edit after. It's sat in a drawer gathering dust since.
Had a couple of GoPro's in the past & lost one, broke one.
Didn't use them enough to justify a new GoPro so ended up with an Akaso V50 & more recently an Akaso Brave 7 both have been great.
There's a guy called Redskull on YouTube who done some pretty good reviews in on them. There are a few versions of the V50 available now.
I have recently bought a Veho Muvi K2 4K (cries of nay from the fashionistas and gotta have what Joe has next door) for the princely sum of £69.00 on eBay from cameracentreuk, performance is good, picture quality is excellent, bit fiddly to use, (especially with sausage fingers!) but compared to the price of a GoPro, I can live with it getting broken.
SD card storage max is 64GB so can be a bit limited if you are planning a long ride etc, but works fine for me, also all comes in a nice plastic storage box with multiple mounts, detachable screen etc.
Think the retailer is on Amazon as well, so bonus!
