B.Traits on Radio1 at 1 on Saturday morning has been the best show on the radio for a while now.
This morning was a whole 3 hours of acid. Well worth it if your around the same age as me!

No Purple Ohms?
Candy flip anyone?
I've got a purple Om tattoo 😳
I've never been the same since the micro dot aquired from the travellers field at Glastonbury 89.
Jesus, I'm half an hour in and it's all come a rushing back!
Very pleasantly surprised that Radio 1 still puts a few good shows out.
Yunki. That gets a like.
Did someone say...
? 😆
God this takes me back to my yoof, I feel old! 😯 🙁
Love acid music. It's somewhat forgotten but every now and again something like this comes along.
Like ceefax acid crew 🙂

Also there at the same time, same acid. Good, eh? 😉
Downloaded, thanks. Loved the 89 thing on R6 recently.
Just seen this clip of Maurice doing This Is Acid on a U.S. TV show which looks a bit like Dance Energy. The girl in the white heels is really going for It. 😆

this is good (from the same era)

I only got the tail end of the scene (mid to late 90's), but had some memorable times (although I only remember snippets!)
Here's a clip that was from before my time but sums it up nicely...

😀
Listening to this now and auto shazaming it, should have a decent spotify playlist at the end which I'll share once done.
Plenty people still doing acid stuff today too....
Does anyone know of any acid house nights in London?
I've heard good things about I love Acid in that London.
It popped up on my Facebook feed over the weekend with a Nexus 21 ( Altern8 alter ego ) dj set.

Thanks, I'll check it out! 🙂
Acid's no historical thing.
Acid is still strong.
Wicked list, aphex.
Roy of the ravers!
Love this shit.
I know! Class huh. Can't believe it's 30 years.
LFO 🙂
I'm gonna be so happy at work all week listening to all this.
Spotify playlist with 27 tracks from the Radio 1 show...

Enjoy!
The show is on mix cloud and downloadable too
Nice one.
I love electronic music, but never really liked acid.
Ho hum.
I love the slower deep acid
Thanks OP finished listening to the show at work today (and the dj Pierre Essential Mix). Really enjoyed it.
I have some great old spiral tribe mixes somewhere that I must try to dig out!
+ thanks OP! Really gave my long commutes this week a lift. Sitting on the M25 with the volume right up.
Also thanks to acidtest, playing that at my desk today.
I love the acid/techno sub-group of this forum. 8) … passes round the vapo-rub
I think devash has it. Access is bloody ace. Steve Mason. Club UK. Come and meet my mates... What was I saying?
Personally, I have no clue what any of that last sentence meant?!
Just bought one of these, mainly because of this thread. 😳
Awesome, want to play.
Liking the way this thread refuses to die 🙂
That is is a boring morning sorted!

Most recent Essential Mix is from DJ Pierre to celebrate 30 years (apologies if someone's already posted and I missed it!)

Boardinbob that mix is ace. Brings me back to my atomic jam days. I think.
The daddy!
Public Energy Three O' Three
Took delivery of a spanking new TB-03 today. Never owned a 303, but have spent the best part of my adult life listening to them. The TB-03 doesn't have quite the warmth of an analogue synth, but it's definitely good enough for me!

There's acid all over my studio!
Cracking thread, here are some of the acid-flavoured '90s club choons I remember fondly...
Will work my way through the other stuff posted when working later.
Acid smiley... 🙂

LIKE..........BIG THUMB!! (we do need a Facebook style, big thumb on here!)
Agree slower can be better. Love this modern track that I came across it in a Weatherall mix recently...
This tune is pretty mental, I heard it on Benji B's show a couple of years ago and bought a copy.
Another fave
I love acid!

My mate Josh runs the I Love Acid night in that London that is mentioned up there. It's named after the Luke Vibert tune posted above, and Luke is a fairly regular guest 🙂
He's also one half of Posthuman and Altern 8, and runs Balkan Vinyl who put out, amongst other things, the Global Goon track someone has posted earlier (which is an absolute belter).
Quite a busy lad!

Posthuman are playing on here tonight from 9pm: Hoxton FM
Afaik, the whole underground Berlin/ Belgian/ Dutch techno, pre-1996 is worth a look (much more stripped-down sound.)
Loving the Hoxton FM and will definitely get down to the acid night at some point. Trying to convince my mrs to go for her birthday, bit of a hard sell.
My mate Josh....He's also one half of Posthuman and Altern 8
A8 was Mark and Chris from Stafford? Which half was Josh?

He's talking about Josh Doherty (off of Posthuman), who does the Altern8 live shows with Mark these days.

Had a good couple of listens to the B.Traits show over the weekend. Superb.
This looks like it will be worth a watch.

It looks more like about rave culture than acid house music (to me). A lot of rave music was not acid house, but you could go to some raves and here acid music, it just depended on the soundsystem running the party.
I was at Castlemoreton which was pretty much the nail in the coffin for the free party seen, but what a few days that was. The police had totally lost control and it forced the criminal justice bill into existence.
Just stumbled across this nice mix:
