I moved my supplier to Scottish Power in March 13 and started on £160 per month for dual fuel. On review, their review, this was increased to £166.00 towards the back end of last year.

The meters were read in April and the bill showed £380 credit. I rang to find out at what point they would pay me back but before doing so they asked for a current reading. That was provided and I'm due back £458! And reduced monthly payment to £138.00.

Regularly take £3-400 hundred out. I should really lower the DD. With OVO by the way, brilliant company. £144 monthly DD for standard 3 bed detached.

How are they brilliant if they keep hanging on to £400 of your cash?

I'm with OVO and must say how impressed I am with their customer service.

As I type this I am 23 minutes into listening to a repeated message waiting for an advisor to speak to at npower.

Absolutely shocking company!

Having to pay £200 a month to catch up now ! grrrrrrr

They keep telling me take it, and when it gets to more than 3 DDs they ping it back. Contrast this with the shower of shit that is Npower, who don't ****ing tell you when you are using more than the dd.

Currently in credit to the tune of £984.74 with ovo. Can you draw it back from them?

You do realise that they dont control how much you pay right ?

You can adjust it your self. You just have to call them. (Or use their app if it allows)

We got over £700 quid back from EDF after the last quarter - very nice.

And they halved the direct debit as well.

All without me actually asking, just did it after I emailed the meter readings.

£847 with Scottish power until I submitted my meter readings.....but then asked for the £160 in credit back and adjusted DD accordingly.

I moved over to standing order rather than DD to have some control. and kept my discount - worth asking about!

Has anyone had any experience of getting a refund from E.On - we appear to be £600 in credit, this should be in my bank account rather than there's.

£1100 with OVO. Use the app and send meter reading every month.
Last year drew £800 no problem back (was just before winter) had to send photos of meters.
They thought I would go into debit over winter.
Paying £245 a month 4 bed detached, teenagers and wife home all day.

Ovo here £600 in credit. Not intending to take it out as it earns more interest than it would in savings account.

just checked 150 quid up. Rebate would only be 28 quid at the moment though. I've just switched to ovo, so that should begin to build up nicely for christmas.

8000 in debit a few years ago due to incorrect meter readings for nearly 5 years.....
Was a bit of a shock of a bill when that turned up! Off to the ombudsman we went... Do I win? 😆

Worked out years ago that DD to power companies is a massive rip off as not only are you in credit to them but also you pay up front.

I went back to paying them when they send me a bill so now at the end of a quarter I owe them money and by paying promptly I get just the same discounts as by paying by DD.

I let it build up to a grand once, like a Christmas club to help pay for the holiday. You just ring em up and ask for a cheque when your ready. That was Npower, with EON now who I'm sure have some credit = mysterious increase in usage algorithm going on.

Because they pay 3% interest on credit balances. Lovely christmas/holiday fund!

Unless you've got Solar PV in which case they're a bit clueless.
