Anyone know a reasonable ( guffaws of laughter stifled) Priced garage in aberdeenshire for a full service and brake pad change on a mk4 golf - we are out banchory way if anything near by

Contemplated doin it my self but my tools are spread far and wide at the moment and i need a caliper rewind tool !

Ive bodged it in te past with internal pliars and a g clamp but on mk4 golfs its seemingly a no go , easy to tear seals as the pistons are stiff as owt

Aberdeen Volks Centre in Kingswells did a good job on my Transporter last month.

My folks use the garage next to Peterculter Football club. Seem pretty reasonable and 'honest'. There is also a good guy called Alan who has a garage by Drumoak who did some work on my MG who is reasonable.

Give me a couple of minutes and I'll find the numbers.

Just looked at the price of parts and friends have the rewind tool

Think ill do it my self - pads are about 50 quid and 20 odd quid a disk

Can just see the garage bill now - makes it worth retrieving my tools !

For the cost of replacing the brakes on the golf i could completely rebuild the brake system on my land rover gah
