I've got roadside relay, apparently now I also get accident assistance and 1 day European cover
Renewal is £135
Are there any cheaper deals that offer similar cover?
I'm a bit short of cash at the moment
Check auto-aid, cheaper for me and flawless when I had to use them.
Just ring and say you want it cheaper.
I've had top level cover with the AA or RAC for years, this years renewal was about £120, quick phone call and I simply asked for it to be cheaper.
they dropped it to £70 with a free £30 Sainsbury giftcard.
I just got what you have for £69. Just ring up and threaten to leave. It's like an insurance renewal, don't just pay it. It's open to debate!
I got the basic level of AA cover for £2 for a year, so they have plenty of room to give you a discount! 🙂
Apparently as I've been a member for over 10 years I've now become a 'Gold Member' (make of that what you will) and for the privilege my annual fee has gone from £105 to £185.
That's very kind of them. I will shortly be telling them where to stick their gold card.
The renewal is a rip off, they did the same to me. I found a great deal with green flag so did that. I also called the AA and they knocked a bit off but the green flag cover was just more comprehensive.
Start Rescue at about £40 for everything incl home start
Had to call them out a couple of times, and had good service from a local operator.
Can't go wrong at that price
auto aid beats them all, take a look and compare what they cover as opposed to the others on price, https://www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk/autoaid/breakdown_services.jsp
the only difference is you pay for the work and then claim a refund, on the 2 times I've used them, had a cheque back within a week, no quibbles.
Yeah that's what I've just done. Got a very good deal through Green Flag that includes caravan recovery too.The renewal is a rip off, they did the same to me. I found a great deal with green flag so did that. I also called the AA and they knocked a bit off but the green flag cover was just more comprehensive.
When I phoned to cancel the guy at the AA has told me they've got new management in to sort out problems with high renewal quotes.
Sounds like they're losing a lot of business to me.
I'm with "rescue my car" and they charge £18 for the year, with a £40 call-out fee if you need them. National cover including onward travel etc.
Works for me as I'm skint also, but figure 2 or 3 call-outs in a year is still no worse than my last RAC renewal.
+1 AUtoaid - used them loads over the years, and you don't always have to pay up front. When you do, repayment is very quick.
