I received this for Christmas and as its miserable outside I embarked on my first Lego build in many many years.

I had to stop myself from hammering through it.

I've just completed the Saturn V and it's a thing of beauty. That looks like fun.

I saw the Saturn Vue when I was in the Lego shop on Saturday. I was like a kid again!

Also the Millennium Falcon! 🙂

The London bus is pretty cool for a cheaper set

Someone left a pile of lego on my doorstep - no box, no instructions, nothing. I didn't know what to make of it

Ah, apologies I thought I had seen a Lego thread here before. Can it be merge-atroned.

That truck - does it have a motor to power the compressor for the pneumatics?

Oh - googled for it, and then found the Lego Technic designer's blog - a good read.

Yes, the motor is just behind the truck cab - you can just make out the orange slide on/off switch. this powers the outriggers and tilts the truck-bed. It also powers a compressor to actuate the arm and bucket.

The wife and kids got me the Bucket Wheel Excavator (42055) for Christmas. Having completed bags 1 to 3 I can confirm that it'll be finished for Christmas this year!
Its seriously huge at just under 4000 pieces and IIRC approximately 400 x 760 x 400mm.
Really fancy the MAC Anthem (42078)Truck next.

As a slight aside, anyone played with the Lego AR Studio app?

May amuse some on here.

That Technics truck is cool but it's still not as good as the Unimog. We managed to buy that as part of our team release party a few years ago, it took a room of six (software) engineers about four hours to build that monster.

Lego has made buying presents for my dad much easier in recent years than it was before. Highlights include the Unimog, the big orange Porsche, Tower Bridge and the bucket excavator above. My parents are starting to worry about storage space for it all!

I tend to collect Star Wars Lego, not the ucs ones as I don’t quite have that reach of money although I did get the snowspeeder that came out last year! Awesome Lego model. For Christmas my oh got me the Lego ghostbusters firehouse it’s currently sat in the box awaiting a build day that will be an epic build!

There was a Lego Millennium Falcon at the local jumble sale the other day, along with a big filing box full or assorted bricks.

Think it went for £30 in the auction. 😯
