I have some footage, maybe 20 minutes if that of my Dad and I filming a rally at the Carron Valley from way back late 80's shortly before he died.

I've been looking at getting it onto a USB.

Does anybody have the apparatus to make it happen for me if I supply the USB and some beer money?

Got a video/dvd thing...unsure if video>USB is possible.
Video hasn't been used for a while, I'd be concerned the machine chews the tape.

@Merak, if you find a source for doing this, can you let me know? I have some footage of my wife’s ballet career that I would love to have transferred.

I’d like something similar, got a vhs video from back in 1994 of rafting the Zambezi/bungee jumping and flying round the country and through the Zambezi gorge in my cousins plane (only a wee single prop 4 seater), would like to get it on usb but I dunno what condition the Kodak vhs tape is in and I wouldn’t trust just throwing it in a vhs player

We offer this as part of our broader film production services.

There can be glitches depending on how good the VHS is. But normally it works fine.

You don't really need to supply a USB we could deliver it via Vimeo and you can download it.

We'd normally charge 20 (for up to an hour) for that sort of thing and return postage for the VHS tape.

If you I can sort it out for a bit cheaper.

Obviously there is a risk of sending through the post but it's quite a low one.

I'm hugely busy with general film production but I would expect we could turn it around in a week.

It's not massive money maker for us as it's quite a faff but the offer is there.

We are VAT registered company so I have to charge something for our time and kit etc.

If it's just 20 mins and no editing needed, I can do it. If my USB thing is still working.
PM me and I can check later. Happy with a bit of beer money.
