Emsz, only if you fell.

I wonder though - I'm a larger built fellow, and I find it easier than flat running, you are a smaller built lass iirc and you find it harder - I wonder if there's a biomechanical reason for that..?

Road running is a fairly steady pace

Only if you make it so. It is different to Fell running but equally hard.

I prefer running on trails, I rarely measure or time runs or rides for that matter. I find running off road more interesting and more challenging, therefore it has more bettererness.

molly, I can leg it on flat roads, but i'm almost useless off road, I can't do all that leaping and bounding you have to do. don't have the 'grunt' if you know what I mean

you'd develop gruntability if it did it more often though emsz

Nonsense.

If chuggers like me and Darcy can leap and bound along off road trails, I am 100% certain you can.

I get really tired though, I can't take the rough uppy down-y-ness of it all, and find my feet catch and drag.

DD I measure ALL my running (write it down and everything) scary, but then I'm all about that, always have been, push myself hard, always measuring. Running's great for that, but now that I'm OK at it (I'm my own harshest critic) I can take it easy sometimes, and just run for the fun of it, but although I feel great after, I always feel a little bit of me wanted to time it 😳

Eh? Eh? Eh?

EDIT: I'm off running at the moment. Too much pressure on my knees.

So you're off running now or you're off running?

And I'm hoping to develop the springy bouncing along thing I need for flat running...

Hay minichops I did Viking Chase yesterday to! Plan on doing as many as poss from the series.
Not to happy with the wet slabs but the rest was great. Mountain biking without the bike!
How did you get on?
Sorry as you were 😀

Just got back and managed to pace myself a bit better, picked a different route which was flatter, and easier, 1.5 miles exactly in 14.49, Or do I need to quote everything in KM now to fit in? At 16st I don't think I'm ever going to be a proper desert sprinter though.

I'm going to try and get a half decent base and then start on intervals and the like.

My iDave plan was written for me, and I know it's his business, so I'd better not blab on here about it. Although I think I can get away with saying it's sprint distance intervals.

Thanks emsz... will have to see what iDave's rates are

I managed a sub 1hr 10k last year on no training and you know what a fat knacker i am! 🙂

I'll bring my trainers up at the weekend and we can go for a quick spin around the block Friday night if you want.
