I recently did the Manchester to Blackpool night ride organised by the British Heart Foundation. Thanks to my and my wife's colleagues, the total raised was over £600. This can be boosted significantly if gift aid is applied. My question is this: do I have to have the full postal address of all my sponsors or would the employer's details suffice. It's basically just to verify the they are Bristish taxpayers.

TiA for answers.

I think they need to give you their details as they have to agree to gift aid it, as well as being UK tax payers, you can't just decide thet they are all going to. At least that's how I understand it.

EDIT - no idea what that^ is about either!

Yes.

The charity reclaiming the extra money will have to make a full declaration to HMRC, including full names and addresses of the UK tax payers. This may be audited.

And also yes, they have to agree to it and be presented with a declaration in writing.

(I know some sad stuff, must get a more cool job !)

TiA means thanks in advance.

You wouldn't want me to send you the other TIA - transient ischaemic attack. Not nice.

Ta for answers - apart from one about schools, NHS etc.. Most random.

Yes.

Well, all of the ones for which you're claiming Gift Aid on, anyway.
