And the following track is also killer bass line

Artificial intelligence "Sicario"

Some old skool roots stuff. In a similar vein to the Winstons Amen Brother, here is a short funky drum solo from Clyde Stubblefield. DnB fans will like it I think

There's loads from old Funk records. The Amen break did get royally rinsed to death! I've got over 400 in REX format!

There was a few from James Brown, Soul Pride, Funky Drummer, Funky President and Give it up.

The Think break (Lyn Collins), Assembly Line (Commodores) and Apache (Michael Viners Incredible Bongo Band) are some of my favourites.

Underrated:

Another bit of trivia for you pop pickers! The famous jungle bird sound that crops up in the above (albeit pitched up) and has been used extensively in film, tv and video games for ambience is a field recording of a North American Loon!

This is a link to my local radio station here in Perth. They have the weirdest scheduling, but Wednesday at 3pm is the drum and bass show. Much to the annoyance of my office chums.

Anyway, it's a 2 hour show highlighting some decent local producers and world talent too.

They are also playing in Northampton on 1st Feb and I am child-free that weekend. Not sure I can be bothered though. I know exactly what will happen as I can't be trusted. I'll start off with good intentions and end up leaving in a sweaty gurning mess, then spend the next week filled with regret and self loathing at my inability to say no.

In the words of Murtaugh - I'm getting too old...

Let's have a bit of context for the Fixate 'RIP Groove' re-work.

Back from early last year when Sherelle blew up the Boiler Room. The most notorious rewind of recent times.

The mix comes in just after 23:00 mins. Then do like they do and pull a rewind of your own back to the begining of the set. The set is a mash up of Footwork, Ghettotech and jungle. Best set I've heard in a few years.

It's the weekend and this is Pete Technimatic's solo project Wardown. An album based around a childhood in Luton might not sound the most promising start but I'm loving it. Not one for the dancefloor, this is "emotive DnB"

Really getting into Jungle a lot more of late. One act whose output I'm really enjoying is Crate Classics! Two lads out of London, one of them is David Rodigan's son!
It's a lot more up to date jungle rather than focusing on the 90s stuff which you find on a lot of online mixes, it's like more relaxed 'intelligent' jungle if you like. They produce their own stuff as well as dj. Here's a recent example, the whole thing is ace. 👌
Please let me know if you listen and enjoy.

Sensational stuff from Nia Archives. Female DJ's are absolutely killing it on the drum n'bass scene right now. There's a few in Manchester that put so much energy and effort into their performance, making the blokes look (And sound) a bit safe and boring, the girls are definitely showing more imagination right now.

I put it down to them not having to go through the record shop hierarchy bulls**t that used to prevail when sourcing dub plates, promos' and getting gigs etc.

Best set I've seen since Sherelle's boiler room set from a couple of years back.
