Came back to watch those 2 girlies again 😀
Not really, it's the weekend and this newy is proper tasty.
*back to pg2*
A newy
Mate if you like Monty, have you heard "Hypnotize" ? Oh my days.... Turn that sub up.
And the following track is also killer bass line
Artificial intelligence "Sicario"
Love the way Monty chucks in different bass sounds all over the place. Good stuff.
Another newy
OMFG Tune!!
really ramps up after 1.30
another top class belter
on one today..
That Gachet tune is a belter. Takes me right back.
Got to say I was surprised to hear this used at the London NYE fireworks display!
Great stuff lads, hoovering the downstairs with these tunes on,
Reminds me enjoy......
Bringing things slightly up to date...
Police in wubwubwubwub.
Old Skool
New Skool
Early Photek.
Another important piece of DnB genealogy
And of course Renegade Terrorist and Trinity Gangsta. Nah not really!
Renegade Snares
Some old skool roots stuff. In a similar vein to the Winstons Amen Brother, here is a short funky drum solo from Clyde Stubblefield. DnB fans will like it I think
There's loads from old Funk records. The Amen break did get royally rinsed to death! I've got over 400 in REX format!
There was a few from James Brown, Soul Pride, Funky Drummer, Funky President and Give it up.
The Think break (Lyn Collins), Assembly Line (Commodores) and Apache (Michael Viners Incredible Bongo Band) are some of my favourites.
Underrated:
Another bit of trivia for you pop pickers! The famous jungle bird sound that crops up in the above (albeit pitched up) and has been used extensively in film, tv and video games for ambience is a field recording of a North American Loon!
Blast from the past - listening to "Future Engineers" on Spotify
0 views on YT!
Hmm. Starts ok, not sure about that pea-in-a-can sound that comes in half way through.
Bukem in Brum in June 😲 for anyone that's interested. 15/06/19 £15.

Someone left a bunch of flowers in the kitchen here - using a Hospital Records mug as a vase! I was like huh?
Best tune out recently.
Ed Solo, Deekline & Navigator
One of my brother's releases on Flex, I remember him ringing me from Music House in London, "should I sign for Flex or Formation Records?" FORMATION FORMATION FORMATION, he signed for Flex gah.

Bukem's in my hometown in June. However it's a dad weekend so I can't go.

DJ Trace - The Mutant revisited. Hard and unapologetic
DJ Trace - the mutant revisited
still makes me leap around the kitchen pining for the late 90’s Leeds DnB scene
This is a link to my local radio station here in Perth. They have the weirdest scheduling, but Wednesday at 3pm is the drum and bass show. Much to the annoyance of my office chums.
Anyway, it's a 2 hour show highlighting some decent local producers and world talent too.
Large up dub heads.
from Technimatic's new album earlier this year. All their tunes are mint.
hit up with your recent tune smnashers.
I've got tix for to see LTJ Bukem & Roni Size on the same bill in Brighton in January, should be good but it starts at 11pm and ends at 5.. christ.
They are also playing in Northampton on 1st Feb and I am child-free that weekend. Not sure I can be bothered though. I know exactly what will happen as I can't be trusted. I'll start off with good intentions and end up leaving in a sweaty gurning mess, then spend the next week filled with regret and self loathing at my inability to say no.
In the words of Murtaugh - I'm getting too old...
Oh and thanks for the heads up jekkyl, I had missed that album completely. That's my drive home listening sorted.
Resurected this thread to post this absolute top class golden liquid dnb remix from the master, Calibre:

it's a london grammr tune btw.
Link up your recent tunes to enjoy, if you like....
'ere ya go jekkyl 🙂
Oh btw - FREE download: https://specialrequest187.bandcamp.com/album/zero-****s
checkit!
Dezzy old bean that tune is absolutely ****ing immense! Like where's the drop?.... WOO THERE IT IS...top class 👏👏👌
That Calibre remix is so good. I've been listening to Calibre's Essential Mix this week and that is one of the highlights.
A bit of Reso for the new year:
Dezzy old bean that tune is absolutely **** immense!
S'wot I thought! Glad you like it. Each track got more immense, so was happy to have that as a freebee 🙂 Paul Woolford is the man behind it.
@DezB sweet recommendation.
Playing the full release (Zero ****s) now. Naughty! Need to make an account and purchase I think.
I’m digging the new Philth album. Monuments in Time pt1 and especially
This tune has been the one for me recently, especially this remix -
Something new and slinky
1m55s makes my legs go funny
and the next one. gorgie
Get your reese bass out for the lads.
Bit of a roller
That Black Shield track up there is ace ^ btw
Insiiiide the riiiide
Love lsb Roger 👌
Here's a liquid banger, pure slinky gold 👌
Karplus-Strong seasoned with portamento!
Here you go.
get yer lugholes round this total banger
Most people I know have seen/heard this but just in case you haven't.
Anyway... Thread bump. What bangers have been floating round your lug holes of late?
May have already been posted but I have been watching this series. Nice look into history of Jungle & D&B etc
Bought the whole Myor discography for £20 off bandcamp, haven't listened to most of it. Need to get round to it!
On a jungle tip today, that second drop tho ...
As it's only Friday morning I'm on a bit more of a mellow vibe
Let's have a bit of context for the Fixate 'RIP Groove' re-work.
Back from early last year when Sherelle blew up the Boiler Room. The most notorious rewind of recent times.
The mix comes in just after 23:00 mins. Then do like they do and pull a rewind of your own back to the begining of the set. The set is a mash up of Footwork, Ghettotech and jungle. Best set I've heard in a few years.
A cracking mix from 99 that keeps cropping up recently
It's the weekend and this is Pete Technimatic's solo project Wardown. An album based around a childhood in Luton might not sound the most promising start but I'm loving it. Not one for the dancefloor, this is "emotive DnB"
Doc Scott's Essential Mix - oooossshhhhh!!
i like these
😀
Still watching/listening to the London one
Oof
Not only d an b but came across this guy recently. Whatfunk crew
Cool mix of jungle, hip hop and ragga.

Really getting into Jungle a lot more of late. One act whose output I'm really enjoying is Crate Classics! Two lads out of London, one of them is David Rodigan's son!
It's a lot more up to date jungle rather than focusing on the 90s stuff which you find on a lot of online mixes, it's like more relaxed 'intelligent' jungle if you like. They produce their own stuff as well as dj. Here's a recent example, the whole thing is ace. 👌
Please let me know if you listen and enjoy.

Pendulum's best. The breakdown!
More Jungle. British artists leading the way! 🙌🔥
Absolute fire Jungle set from Nia Archives. Put it up on your tele! & turn it up. 😲
it's mint 🔥🔥✨🙌🎃
I've enjoyed discovering Nia Archives.... I'll listen later.
Sensational stuff from Nia Archives. Female DJ's are absolutely killing it on the drum n'bass scene right now. There's a few in Manchester that put so much energy and effort into their performance, making the blokes look (And sound) a bit safe and boring, the girls are definitely showing more imagination right now.
I put it down to them not having to go through the record shop hierarchy bulls**t that used to prevail when sourcing dub plates, promos' and getting gigs etc.
Best set I've seen since Sherelle's boiler room set from a couple of years back.
This came back round on my playlist again recently, I had forgotten just how good it was!!!

Properly takes me back...
Andy C's 2005 essential mix was an absolute banger too... 🤯

This ain't bad. Fred Again did a decent set but it's not DnB!
Marcus Intalex's Fabric Live mix in the car this morning...
And this getting a lot of plays atm
Fred Again did a decent set but it’s not DnB!
Which set is that? Like his stuff.
coincidentally...
Fred Again's track "Jungle" isn't jungle, but it's a banger.
