Good guitar playing but the other guy has some lungs on him!
Anyone else got any not so well known covers they like?
This one sprang to mind:
and this one's bloody brilliant
and this fella has done loads of different ones, of which this is a fair, and good sample:
Hannah Peel - on her Rebox EP she covered Sugar Hiccup, Electricity, Tainted Love and Blue Monday, with just her voice and a musical box programmed by herself. Quite delightful.
Oh, and she also covered Lenny's Tune, from an album of Tim Hardin covers.
I'll see if I can find some videos.
I love this one to bits:

I saw this performed by Shawn at the Union Chapel, and her version blew me away:
She's done lots of outstanding covers, her second album was called Cover Girl.
She's not afraid to cover Talking Heads, either:
If you've got Spotify there's a really good acoustic session with Skunk Anansie on there. Worth checking out...
'A real hero' from the film drive
Takes a while to get going, but I think this is brilliant
The rather lovely Jennifer Nettles does "Come Together" cover:
How about Scarlett Johansson:
(With some help from David Bowie)
A rather lovely cover of Rhianna's Umbrella, by Mechanical Bride.
Bought this album in the 80s when Tuck looked like a kid! Looks like they're still going...
I take your scarlett and raise you a Zooey 🙂
The two that instantly come to mind are
and
EDIT: To be fair they may well be too well know to meet the OP's brief.
I guess this one is not everyone's cup of tea but I love it.
Not strictly acoustic, but i think it's within the spirit
Sky Arts 1 right NOW. Johnny Cash showing how acoustic covers should be done. Amazing.
On his youtube channel there is some just extraordinary playing, as well as a cover of 'Genie In A Bottle'(as in Aguilera) with him doing loads of oldskool magic tricks in the video. The man is a genius.
More in the spirit of what the OP was after I reckon Leesha Harvey, 😀
Found this a while back while looking for something else and quite liked it.
Not sure if it really counts as a cover but I love this acoustic version of Zero 7's Home
Nirvana Unplugged - Where did you sleep last night
Haunting, especially when Kurt topped himself shortly after.
Loving this thread, really like the first one righog.
Don't forget to label your video please as they don't show up on pads/phones.
Thang you ver much.
I absolutely love this. Elbow's cover of Massive Attack's Teardrop.
When doves cry. The be good Tanya's
You can thank me later 😉 Jess Greenberg Highway to hell
Oh go on then...
Bob That is Brilliant.
Try:
Richard Thompson - 'oops I did it again'
June Tabor and the OysterBand - 'Love will tear us apart'
Love this.

Geek in the pink (MRAZ) Ortopilot always funks up my day 🙂
I'm loving this at the moment:
Although I'm not sure if it is a cover.

Yeah I keep coming back to it. Absolutely superb. They've also posted a very cool cover of that Lady Gaga/ Beyonce song Telephone
Not quite acoustic but
or
Under the Bridge HARDKISS
Only audio on this, it's a killer though.
Hang on there - if ukelele versions are in, then Gus & Fin must be considered:
Gugug - Blitzkrieg Bop
Check out Ryan Adams - Wonderwall from Love Is Hell Part 1.
The Civil Wars doing Billie Jean is something to behold. To be fair I love them generally - bit of a sucker for harmonies but still - it's top drawer.
Ref the above, The Civil Wars linky:
Loving this one, Ryan Adams covering Iron Maiden's Wasted Years.
