Was thinking on the train on the way in about the amount of success the UK has had this year in sport. Off the top of my head:

Giro win for Froome

Tour win for G

Test win over India

Cook and Anderson's plaudits for that

Rach winning another world champs

England football team over achieving

Anthony Joshua winning

Lewis Hamilton on the brink of another world title

And likely many others I've not remembered. Feels like it's been a proper, vintage year.

Hopefully Simon Yates to win the Vuelta too. Fingers crossed.

it would indeed be fine to hold all three GT's with three different riders.

Not sure I'd say Lewis was on the brink of another world title just yet!

He/the team would have to implode pretty spectacularly not to and up until now it has been (mainly, apart from the occasional exception) being Vettel and Ferrari doing the Black Hole impersonations.

England over achieved? Seriously? You did see the media coverage? England fans had already crowned them World Cup winners before their first game.

Don't follow football but from what I did see, they did do very well but I'm not sure the media hype would agree that they over achieved.

Most of those who do follow football would say they did.... The hype was mostly tongue in cheek as it went along as it was a great feeling.

30 point lead, potentially dropping to as low as 15 at the end of this coming weekend due to Merc potentially being the third best car in Singapore. I'd say that holding of the much improved, and best car on the grid, Ferrari back will be a massive task, it has to be said. Having said that, based on Singapore last year, this weekend could go completely the other was and we could be looking at Lewis on the brink of his 5th title.
