Apropos of nothing, but YouTube just fired this at me and I thought it was funny.
Wow! and that's from 1995 apparently - nice to know that in close on 30 years, absolutely nothing has changed. Well except for not having this sort of thing on TV any more.
Marvellous.
Stephen wouldn't be allowed to dress as a lady these days. Very offensive. Nowadays.

They're currently being rerun. Season one. We've been watching... still feels fresh! Six episodes on iPlayer.

Nonsense.
Nonsense.

Oh FFS, can we not?
I think dressing as a woman is ok, just don’t criticise the Tory party or their policies?

Mrs Brown’s Boys.
Little Britain. Ru Paul's Drag Race. Every pantomime ever (which could be argued to be problematic in itself). Ant & Dec. And many, many, MANY more.
I swear, the Outraged Right would be a lot less outraged if they simply stopped making shit up to be outraged about.

Yep, bbc neutrality
Yep, bbc neutrality
The BBC didn’t make that advert, some people who appeared on it (the BBC) also appeared in it (the advert). You know… actors, writers… creating an entertainment show that the BBC airs doesn’t necessarily make the rest of your work, or life, apolitical. Same goes for musicians, sports people, chefs…
Sorry. Too much chattering about Lineker over the weekend!
I watch Yes Minister and also think they nailed politics...
.
Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister get played on BBC Radio 4 Extra - despite being 'old', they still seem to ring very true which is slightly concerning as it suggests things just don't ever change. It is brilliant though.
If you think those sketches are old but still ring true, check out some of the work by this guy called Shakespeare. Apparently he nailed the human motivations and interactions stuff and is still quite popular in places like Stratford. hardly ever seen on TV (bloody lefties? Political correctness? fascist government?) but meant to be big on the street/theatre scene.

pffft, fly-by-night newcomer, check out the tragedies by Aeschylus. Agamemnon is essentially about family inter-generational dysfunction
