It's November 16th and I've already seen a house with Christmas lights on. Can the magic last that long?

No, not early at all.  Embrace it.  Merry Christmas!

It's bloody ridiculous - I mean, we're only into week 3 of Wiggle's black Friday emails and already we're being pushed on to Christmas.  Grrrrr

Harrogate xmas market opened yesterday, thankfully just for 3 days. It's the middle of November FFS!

(How something the size of my front room can cause so much traffic congestion is beyond me.)

At least Otley Victorian (Xmas) market has the sense to be in December.

Radio 2 played The Pogues yesterday, Christmas is coming- woohoo!

I don't see the point in fighting it, just roll with it and enjoy in the way you want.

At these times I'm reminded of that harrowing film, Jacob's Ladder: The ultimate message of the film being if you don't accept the inevitable, your life will turn into a nightmare. In short: Learn to embrace the madness 😀

This will be my first Christmas away from my family in the 44 years of my life: I'm gonna take any homely warmth and seasonal feelings where I can get them.

I assume they do it to ensure people go - the later they leave it, the more likely people are busy doing other things? We went yesterday (as our girls were at a birthday party at Pots to Go just across the road). It felt very weird on a bright and relatively warm day to be hearing all the Christmas songs and smelling revolting mulled wine everywhere.
