What is the likelihood that this situation spirals further downwards?

FTFY.

Oh, and it's "An Archduke", by the way.

I fear that this sloppy approach to spelling and grammar may well spiral out of control.

😉

Well it certainly throws a curve ball at the Syrian situation.

A cynical person would wonder what the F4 had just photographed...

An even more cynical person would wonder if this now gives certain nations an opportunity to launch military operations against Syria under the auspices of the mutual self defence clause of the NATO charter, meaning that a UN security council resolution would not be necessary 😉

Why would one need an F4 to take happy snaps?

I was under the impression they could do a colonoscopy from space these days?

Stoner, you need to tidy your bedroom. I have photographic evidence.

Indeed, you can tell what brand of cigarettes someone has on the table beside them from space, but only if the cigarettes/table are free from cloud cover and they are still there when your satellite gets in the right place to do it. Hence ongoing investment from the 'mericans in spy manned/drone spotter planes . In fact, according to wiki, they used a U2 (nearly 60 year old design, outlasted the sr71 blackbird in service) over Libya just last year.

Except when it's cloudy or your satellite isn't over the target area. Hence why the yanks still have the U2 in operation and hence why they are rumored to be operating an SR-71 successor or prototype. Hence the recent investment in Hypersonic sub-orbit unmanned demonstration aircraft.

Apparently its been confirmed today that the shot down plane was an RF-4E

Which is the photo reconnaissance version...

Looks like my spidey senses were working well again 😀

Z11, which brings this thread to the original question, is this a way of sending troops in because the syrians started it.

I thought that Franz Ferdinand was shot dead? How could he have been flying a plane some 98 years later? Did

I think that the OP might be wrong (as well as having incurred some unfortunate grammatical errors).
