But who are you going to replace him with? Who's going to come in and instantly transform the club into Premiership winning, Champions League contenders then?
Watford were just better than you yesterday. West Ham were also better than United. And I'd say they're favourites at home for the replay. Chelski were well beaten by Everton. And City couldn't break down Norwich. Have you noticed who's still sat at the top of the table?
The 'Big Clubs' are just going to have to acknowledge the fact that the power balance is shifting, and they're not going to have things all their own way any more. Which is all good IMHO
Do you remember when Arsene joined Arsenal? Arsene who? Doesn't need to be a big name to replace him.
It's going to be Thierry at some point, surely?
Just got [url=
A license, so not long now.
Here is one bookies list in full:
Martinez might be worth a shout, as he has a penchant for bottling. 😉
Yeah at some point it'll be him. Viera seems to be the one that got away
Edit : just saw your list . David Moyes oh god
think Carlo Ancelotti would be a good fit at Arsenal, plays attacking football, mixes it up more than Wenger.
Haha Sherwood what a clown. Love it. I like how Tony Adams has longer odds than SAF
I think Simeone would be an interesting fit.
All hypotheticals, tho.
The situation at Arsenal is an odd one. In that the board is impotent, the owner doesn't care as long as that champions league money is coming in, and the only person able to sack the manager seems to be the...erm... manager.
Not sure I can think of a similar situation. SAF doesn't count as he was never in a position where he would have been up for the sack.
Have said it before, but I can't see Arsenal sacking Wenger. He'll be allowed to go of his own accord (IMO and I wouldn't like to see him sacked either). I do think he should go at the end of this season, whereupon Arsenal will be the last to join the 3 season manager merry-go-round.
Gary Neville?
I think Mr Neville would take a job at McDonalds as things stand at the mo.
I don't think this season's dusted yet. In the same way that they can't buy a win right now, i could easily see the Arse suddenly winning 5 on the spin, that's how hot and cold everyone seems to be blowing.
I can also see Leicester losing tonight. New manager, desperation times at Newcastle, pressure finally being on with it being theirs to lose now.....
Forget what's gone before, this isn't a normal season for anyone.
Business as usual for Newcastle.
L fans changing "your getting sacked in the morning" 😉
Would love to see Simeone in the PL, he really is a class act.

😉
Leicester are the most consistent and solid team in the league, hot and cold [s]they[/s] we are not.
We are staying up, we are staying up!!
Well 30 calm minutes at St James done...
With nowt but the BBC text updates it could be a long night
Henderson and Lallana playing for England in place of Drinkwater tomorrow.
Im so excited by the prospect I could almost shit my pants in public.
Everyone knows if you play for Lpool you are automatically amazing at footeh.
That's a result for Drinkwater if you ask me. As he'll get a rest, and be fresher for the run in.
Does anyone actually want to play for England anyway? In a meaningless friendly, in Woys dire, unimaginative, spirit-crushingly tedious defensive formations, against a team that are in a different league, and are going to absolutely batter them!
Henderson is actually your perfect England player. A massively over-rated, overpaid, second rater, who's won **** all, and never will! I'm sure his, and the rest of the teams deficiencies will be ruthlessly exposed tonight. Not that I'll be bothering watching it. Gave up watching Engerland a long time ago!
I agree binners, international football is pretty garbage these days.
I bet he rests all the Spurs boys on Tuesday to keep them fresh for the league.
Just heard he's on about naming Jack Wilshere in the squad for the Euro's. Who last played when? And will be nowhere near match fit!
Tells you everything you need to know about the England set up, and the nonsensical obsession with 'Big Club' players, especially ones trading on past glories (Rooney), rather than on actual form
I bet he rests all the Spurs boys on Tuesday to keep them fresh for the league.
I hope so 😀
Jammers - pochettino should have done a Fergie! All those players would have developed mysterious phantom injuries that kept them out of the meaningless international friendliest, yet be miraculously cured on time for the next league game 😉
Remember the Labour Party leadership election? One of Andy Burnhams manifesto pledges was to ban international friendliest during the premiership season 😆
I thought we were rocking for a few minutes, but this last 20 mins has been pretty decent!
Brilliant goals esp Vardy's
But what a bloody miss there from Alli
All without Rooney and Walcott.
Almost like England are a better team without them.
Edit: Not sure how to say this, but this is actually an entertaining game of football featuring England FC.
Get in!!!!!
(I know it's only a friendly but wgaf!)
Did anyone else spot the scrolling advertising boards for 'World of Tanks' and have a minor 😯 moment?
Get in.
JAMIE ****ING VARDY
IMPACT!
Please let this mean that Rooney will never again put an England shirt on! And Henderson couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo!
Vardy's goal was an absolute peach. And fitting that Kane got them back in it with a fantastic Cruyff turn! I'm sure he'll be smiling, seeing that!
Thought they were going to get hammered Binners?! Hardly a defensive performance either! Woy has a big decision to make re Rooney - bet he hopes his injury is worse than reported and keeps him out of the euros as his addition to that side would weaken it.
Does this mean that England are in with a fair chance at the Euros?
Nailed on winners, I'd say. Or out at the group stages. One or the other, no in betweens.
Will have to catch some highlights then 🙂
England looked quality tonight the Spurs, Liecester and Liverpool players all play similar pressing games and it showed and they looked a team. If Roy has any sense Rooney, Stirling and Wilshaw will be left at home.
Only saw the last 15 mins but think I got the best bit. Vardy's goal was a corker!
@dragon, we've always failed to pick form players. Rooney should go imo as he has a lot of experience but Wilshire and Sterling should stay at home
A great performance. At two down I was relatively happy with our performance but to win the game was a huge bonus. Play like that and we will be Euro Champions this summer.
At times we looked a very good attacking side. I'd like to see us play with Kane and Vardy up front from the start.
Between now and the euros though we need John Stones to get back in form and take Cahill's place, Wilshere to get fit and playing to take Henderson's place (he's a tryer, but just not very good at football) and any one of Walcott, Sterling, The Ox in place of Lallana.
The half time team talk from Corporal Jones worked a treat.
"They don't like it up 'em, Mr Hodgeson, sir!"
Vardy for me is an impact sub not a starter. I think Henderson is okay he does a solid job and with Dier is there to anchor the midfield I can't see Wilshere doing that. I also think Llana is a solid player, I'd possibly consider the Ox there but Stirling and Walcott don't offer enough for me defensively. People forget that the attacking 3 midfielders have to work hard to win the ball back and track back. Other advantage of Llana, Clyne is club the combination which allows England to build a team quickly in a short space of time.
Wilshere to get fit and playing
Unfortunately he's made of glass.
Friendly games are always great, load of misery and crap before. A win and England are unstoppable...
Probably a good time for those in form players to get a run out against quality opposition to see how they translate premier league to international play. Glad Roy is trying things out, also remember he will probably be giving some players enough rope to drop themselves along with motivation for those not there to step up.
Vardy for me is an impact sub not a starter.
Premier League top scorers table suggests otherwise.
) and any one of Walcott, Sterling, The Ox in place of Lallana.
Just Sterling then....the other two are headless chickens!
Vardy for me is an impact sub not a starter.
I'm sure Woy agrees and will only bring him on after Rooney has huffed and puffed with little effect for 75mins.*
*Thank you for her service, Wayne. But it's time to let the young guard through, let's not get into the usual England bullshit of playing players past their best 'for their experience'.
Here's my prediction then, seeing as my predictions are going so well....
This is a false dawn. Come the actual Euro's, Woy will bottle it and revert to type. He'll reinstate the old guard, play an increasingly lumbering and immobile Rooney up front, and return to his uber-defensive comfort zone. Engerland will go out first round after the fans are forced to endure yet more of the dire, unimaginative way-past-it's-sell-by-date style of football that he's specialised in so far. Grinding out awful 0 - 0 draws will figure prominently
This^ +100
Don't forget the "injury to a key player which puts him out for the rest of the season but he races to become fit for one of the last tournament quali matches and then proceeds to do fark all" scenario.
Premier league top scorer is Kane and he has scored 20 in consecutive seasons so for me he starts and is the target man. Vardy is an impact sub as he brings energy and can play up top if Kane got injured or play slighly behind and to the side as he did yesterday.
Alli plays in behind to start then with Barkley to come off the bench. With a combo of Wellbeck, Sturrage, Lallana and Ox being the other attacking midfielders. Rooney stays at home to keep Stirling company 😆
Even sadder news...
England manager Roy Hodgson insists captain Wayne Rooney is still a major part of his Euro 2016 plans
It was crushingly inevitable.
Why not bring Stevie G and Lamps back as well. Get the whole band back together. 🙁
England manager Roy Hodgson insists captain Wayne Rooney is still a major part of his Euro 2016 plans
As long as his plan covers having someone there to sign autographs for local kids so the team can focus on training, I'm in alignment.
I guess we're all going to skate over the new kits, and pretend they never happened, right?

Given the prince they're selling them for, I presume its an elaborate joke.
Woy pledging allegiance to Rooney was just so achingly predictable. He's obviously missed how United's form has picked up quite a bit since he's been out injured. A 'fit' Rooney in the England squad is inexplicable enough. But one who won't have played for a few months? .... Seriously?
Woy pledging allegiance to Rooney was just so achingly predictable. He's obviously missed how United's form has picked up quite a bit since he's been out injured
Was listening to Woy on the radio, and he was saying how Wayne can't be kicked out of the squad due to the team playing better without him. As well as they wouldn't be where they were without him....yup. I am sure only he could have scored a penalty against the Swiss.
It's like he has not seen Rooney's performance over the last couple of seasons. In the same way Vardy and Drinkwater have played their way into the squad, I would say it's fair to argue that Rooney has played his way out of it.
Woy may Wooney captain, he can't ditch him now 2 months before what is probably his last tournament
Woy is a relic of a past gone era, do you think England would play a modern formation with a high pressing game if it was left up to him. Nope he'd be back to a static 4-4-2. And it takes a certain genius to look at Rooney's goal scoring record in major tournaments and think yep he's should be the main man. He has scored 4 against the mighty San Merino though 😆
Engerland will probably put in another half decent performance tonight. The press will helpfully forget that its a meaningless friendly against by far the worst Dutch squad theres ever been (failing to qualify in a group topped by the mighty Iceland!).
The ridiculous 'we're going to win the Euro's' nonsense will be ratcheted up even further. Making going out first round even more inevitable. I can see (yet again) the TV images of Rooney trudging dejectedly off the pitch after a woeful 0-0 with Slovakia
Woy may Wooney captain, he can't ditch him now 2 months before what is probably his last tournament
If he ditched him now, it would be almost two years after his last tournament.
You think you have it bad with Woy in charge? How do you think we feel having to put up with Coleman?
You think you have it bad with Woy in charge? How do you think we feel having to put up with Coleman?
I'd have thought Welsh fans would have been quite happy at present?
Coleman is a far more modern manager than Woy. I'd rather Coleman every time, his win ratio is decent enough for Wales and he is only the 2nd manager to take them to a major tournament.
My only prediction is that Sturridge will break a toe nail that'll put him him out for the rest of the season and the Euros
He might not be invited to the Japanese embassy, but he can score goals.
Look forward to him being subbed on for Wayne with 5 mins left.
Slightly dodgy penalty but it made for the one Rose got away with in the first half.
Lallana looks out of his depth, Barkley is soo one dimensional, but the Keeper's doing well.
EDIT: oh no ....here comes Theo!
Hoddle has become an awful commentator, **** knows what he was jabbering on about after the penalty.
I thought the pen was pretty clear cut, it was a swinging arm there was quite a lot of movement towards the ball.
Altogether now, as he blazes another one over/wide/straight at the keeper: "Unlucky, Theo".
Oh, and Remi Garde has been sacked. That'll fix things at Villa 🙁
Villa to do a Leicester, escape relegation, and be top of the premiership this time next season then? 😉
England don't deserve to lose this one, they have been the better team and the decision to not give that foul on the run up to the second Dutch goal was ridiculous.
Payet's goal against Russia is worth a watch. Tasty.
Grinding out 1 nils is exactly how you win titles.
Can't see them throwing this away at this stage, after Spurs dropping points yesterday. Can't see Ranieri doing this....
😆
Another 3 points in the bag for United after an assured and convincing display of fast-paced, free-flowing and creative attacking football 🙂
They're going to 1-0 it all the way to the title.
I hope so and that from a Spurs fan. First goal of the season from the defender - nice 🙂
The icing on the cake would be Man U not hiring The not-so Special One
I wish we had a £35 million striker who could put 3 past Arsenal! 😆
Arsenals defence is absolutely all over the place! They should be 4 down, as the first West Ham goal should have stood. They could be more
....[s]Arsenals[/s] Man U's defence is absolutely all over the place! ....
Calling it now.
1. Leicester ....a bold call I know. Watch them get asset stripped over the summer and get relegated next season. I wonder how that guy who cashed in his bet is feeling? (apart from £75k better off)
2. Spurs ....Have finally stopped being Spursy, and a place in CL and avoiding St Totteringham's Day is an fair reward.
3. Arsenal ....they Arsenaled it up as usual. Next year it'll all be [s]exactly the same[/s] different tho!
4. Man City ....would like to see West Ham get it, but think they'll miss out. Which is a shame, as City deserve to be relegated for Nasri's frosted tips.
.
.
18. Sunderland ....They can't escape yet again. Lee Catermole will finally get to play in his natural league.
19. Newcastle ....meh. Just...meh.
20. The [s]mighty[/s] shitey Villa. I'd relegate them twice just for giving up several months ago. Will contine to hate watch them in Championship, tho.
