Picking STR Jnr and her boyfriend up from Manchester in the morning after 6 months traveling SE Asia and beyond. Flight lands 07.45

First request was for a traditional roast on the way home, but that's not happening before 12pm anywhere, so they are settling for a full English somewhere.

First instinct would have been the Red Lion pub at High Lane, but they don't open for breakfasts

So, then the well reknowned Yonderman Cafe at Wardlow Mires (Derbyshire Oatcake is included).

It's a biker (mostly motor) cafe, spit and sawdust. Most locals love it, but I was met this evening with a 'good god, it's bloody awful'.

Personally I quite like the place.

So, if is not there, any recommendations en route?

Tia

Answering your question with a totally different answer, when I came home from doing similar, it had taken 2 days of travelling and the only thing that I wanted was a shower!! So maybe nip home, then treat them to a roast (which will probably be fairly hard to find on a Friday?!)

Well, can suss that one out in the morning if they don't want to eat, that's an easy one 👍

Libby's in Marple Bridge or All Things Nice in Marple both do great food and are not too far off route

Wasn’t sure where home was and kind of assumed if you’re going past Wardlow then might be heading at least in the rough direction of Sheffield…

The Old Smithy in Monyash?

Biker's/walker's caff, huge brekkie, oatcakes, but crucially, no sawdust.

If Monyash is an option, The Farm Shop and Cafe in Hartington does a pretty decent breakfast, no sign of sawdust.

Cracking coffee as well. Opens at 9, lots of walkers and cyclists in there Saturday

Stop off early in bramhall or poynton or somewhere in the peaks e.g Tides well or Bakewell. Obvious shout for the Hope cycling friendly cafe.

Church Inn Cheadle Hulme perhaps? Opens at 8am for breakfast. I used to eat there quite a bit and it was always very good. Haven't been for a while but it seems to get good reviews.

How about the nice bakery in Whaley Bridge?

Edit: it's not a greasy spoon, it's just a good bakery with seats outside
