I’m going to have around 8 hours in Seoul for a wee nosey about. Any suggestions for stuff to see, preferably near(ish) the railway station as I’ll have my trolley dolly case on tow unless I can leave somewhere? Ta!

Stations in big cities nearly always have left luggage facilities for this exact reason.

A walk to the top of Namsan Mountain Park (by the station) and / or one of the palaces nearby like Deoksugung. Definitely try the food (personal fave if you like things spicy - kimchi-jjigae).

You can walk up Namsan Mountain easily from the train station - great views over the city.

I expect its an amazing city to visit. Enjoy 😀

Take lots of pics then come back and share them. So much better than our usual bleak wintry urban landscape.

To be honest if I was left to my own devices in Seoul for 8 hours I'd probably just happily eat myself into a coma.

Love Korean food.

Gyeongbokgung Palace

Wander down insadong-gil

National museum

Wander round gangnam

At least that's what I did in about 8 hours last Saturday

Changgyeonggung

Gyeongbokgung Palace and the boulevard leading up, but the whole area was worth a walk.

North Seoul Radio Tower

We went pre COVID to S Korea and had a great time....the above are what stuck out to me but just a great city to walk around.

Try and read some of the history before going, truly fascinating.

Enjoy.

def Korean BBQ and eat yourself stupid..  can stick kimchi where the sun don't shine, it's alright in small doses, but small doses of kimchi don't exist in Korea as the wheel out more and more an more of it at increasingly spicy levels..  the meat though...... Nom nom nom nom. .

Other than that I find Seoul slightly depressing.

Another vote for Namsan Mountain, if time pressed you can cable car up and walk down or vice versa.

Itaewon market is always worth seeing. The new park at Cheonggyecheon Stream didn't exist when I went (it was a very busy elevated motorway over a stream/ditch) but apparently is well worth a visit.

You could go to the DMZ too, depressing and weird in equal measure
