Indeed. Terrible, we where working close to Aldgate East so had emergency services outside all day. It was a very sombre walk back to Waterloo that evening as all tubes remained closed.
Was at a mates wedding in Athens that week, the London guys were getting messages about the tubes being screwed. Didn't really sink in till later - one of the guys we were out with would normally have been on one of those busses.
Yeah, friend off mine who lives in London got off one of the trains about 10 minutes before it all kicked off. Took him a couple of hours to work out how close he'd been to the whole thing. Same train, wrong carriage.
He also missed the Kingscross fire by less than 10 minutes. Only been living in London about 2 months at that point.
I think i'd have moved after that.
Doesn't seem like 11 years. 5 at most. But then until i double checked i though the Kingscross fire was in the mid/late 90's. I must be getting old.
