I hadn’t realised it was coming up, otherwise I’d have liked to have been down there.
A friend of mine was involved with a local celebration a few years ago when he helped one of the survivors come over from the States and had locals and schools get involved as well.
The Sherman tank that was recovered is a poignant reminder of the events 75 years ago.
