Can anyone identify this? Pictured at Elgin's motor museum.

It's not a Alfa Carabo...it looks very Bertone to me and it rings a bell from my childhood for some reason but I can't identify it.

Something by Mercedes?

There used to be something like this in a showroom on Piccadilly

Cheers guys, Pete, I initially thought of the Merc too.

It's not a Marzal. The haunches above the rear wheels are completely different,as are the doors; there are no lower windows on the Corgi model. Nor is it a Gull wing.
It is a Lambo though...

(unless it's a very poor model)

It's a lot like this, but I don't think it's the one. Shame I don't have my 1978 Top Trumps sports car pack.

hate to say it but a lot of those matchbox/corgi type cars were not real car models - (excuse the pun) and i think probably loosely based on something maybe. Although this one may be??

This link suggests it's a Marzal

The model looks very similar, although the doors are different.

MLC - see the OP, def not Carabo.

I think it is the Marzal - details like the lights in the grille.

I imagine it was too tricky to put the glass in the lower half of the door. It does look more wedgy than the real thing but that may just be the angle of the picture.

Searching "matchbox Lamborghini Marzal" results in two models. One has the glass in the bottom if the doors, the other one doesn't.

On the ops car the rear edge of the door glass runs straight up 90 degrees from the bottom edge, in the above model it slopes backwards.

Could it not just be a "made up" toy car .

I think it's a Polistil 1/43 scale model:

The wheels give it away.

not that one -- but some of the models in the museum are very similar to ones I had -- I guess many small boys had similar models, but I think my folks donated my cars to someone that worked there, outside chance some of them are mine 🙂
