OK, so the wife and I have been invited to a fancy dress party.

I hate fancy dress and have so far managed to avoid going to one. Ever.

Anyway, these are good friends, so I going to bight the bullet and go, so now I need some ideas.

It needs to be:

Easy, does not come with some naff catch phrase, not involve any sort of body hair, or wigs......

No mullets either.

Ideas?

Best to avoid being, Jimmy saville, rolf harris, ken barlow, and dave lee travis then all big in the 70,s and 80,s.

What about you being arthur Scargill and the wife Mrs thatcher.

Duncan Goodhew
just shave your head and get a whole body wax and go to the party in nothing more than a pair of skimpy speedos and a verruca sock.

Thats you're wife's outfit sorted. Not sure who you should dress up as though.

I know it's normal to not even read the OP, but skipping the title is a new one 8)

Well, apart from not wanting to need body hair in the pursuit of the look, I reckon Magnum PI is the one...

Smiley face t-shirt, drop an E and go as an eighties raver, at least it'll loosen you up enough to enjoy yourself 🙂

I was press-ganged into going to a 70's fancy dress party a few months ago. Everyone was done up in flares and floppy hats which seemed more 60's to me.

Bearing in mind that from my POV the 70's = punk I bought a "Never Mind the Bollocks, here's the Sex Pistols" t-shirt and snarled at everyone in best Sid manner.

Wow.

OK, I am loving the tron idea! Or maybe A-Team. Not sure if I could pull of the slave girl look though. Wife would make a good Han Solo though.

Bermuda shorts and a big white frankie says RELAX t-shirt. A jacket with big shoulder pads, or a denim jumpsuit for the missus - easy.
