yes he has. it was a very gracious speech. He's a class act and a genuinely good dude. I'll deffo miss him as its part of my daily routine.

He can't have been pushed - if they've still got liz kershaw on the payroll then surely everyone's job is safe?

Any keaveny detractors can have one of these:

That's disappointing.
He broadcasts from London but most of 6music is being re-located to Salford; I wonder if that's the reason and, if it is, how many others will do the same.

I won't miss the bloody Bergerac theme tune. I don't mind his music selection, in fact at times it's great, but his consistent beds, cart-wall and bloody impressions can do one. I reckon he'd be a great bloke to have a ride/beer with having said all that.

I quite like his show. His chat gets a bit annoying sometimes, but overall it's a fun few hours

Sad to hear he's going. I must admit I preferred him in the breakfast slot.

I think 6 music is on a mission to have only female presenters. Many of the new presenters seem to be big into techno stuff and less of the old school indie rock. I've always liked the balance and variety but it seems to be getting tilted heavily in one direction now.

Where's MAH gone btw? Tuned in earlier in the week to find she's been usurped by Jan super-sandwich or something.

MAH is on holiday

The 1extra-dition (see what I did there?) With jamz supernova and Gemma cairney seems to be a thing but whatevs

6music also seems to be a repository for radio 1 deejays who have grown out of tweeny bop so hugh Stevens who is a welcome addition, but doesn't have the keaveny relaxing bantz that I need.

And now Annie Mac has apparently left radio 1 I wouldn't be surprised if she jumps channels, like Hugh

I don't know of the move to Salford is the cause cos the 1extra djs are all London based and Hugh Stevens broadcasts from Cardiff. Ironic though what with SK being a professional northerner

Isn't BBC moving to Cardiff as well? *Goes off to read up on it*

Tis a shame hes going, dont mind him at all,and a shame it wasn’t Steve Lurpak announcing his departure.Agree with the previous comments on the new Guest presenters aka jam super nova and ilk, too much of a swing towards techno-dance beeps and beats.Tom Ravenscroft to fill slot please(i know he likes his beeps too) but always amusing with it

Gutted TBH. I've really got into his show. He's very funny and he plays some top tunes. I was on small claims court back in April. He's read loads of my texts out in the last few months. Even one signed off with my STW moniker!

What a flipping shame.

That's a shame..I was just starting to like his show.

That leaves Rad&Mac, Cerys and Tom Robinson that I like.

I'm really going to have to get my Small Claim in pronto.

And agree, not sure about current direction 6 seems to be taking.

I really liked Jamz Supernova's first show.....been liking them less and less ever since. Better than Kershaw though ffs!

Agreed that it's getting to techno focused these days....always loved it for it's variety.

Can't they give Loyle Carner a regular show? He was mega.

quite liked him tbh, one of the shows i was always happy to have on in the background. yeah some of the jokey stuff was a bit meh but i quite liked his self-deprecating manner.

as for the newer dj's, jamz supernova and the blessed madonna? naaaah, i hope one of them two doesnt replace him, i get bored stiff with their shows and quickly switch to deezer. the friday mix today seemed so gutless, a world away from MAH and her techno 😀

I quite like Laverne, Gemma, Jamz, MAH and Keavney. All for different reasons.

I've refused calls from my boss when MAH has some good techno on and told him that when I called back.

I can see Gemma and Jamz being used to attract a broader audience.

I much prefer Jamz Supernova to MAH pretentiousness- she feels as forced as Tim Westwood to me
Have love hate relationship with keavney, he can be irratating as fk, but his music is a good mix

Kershaw was just awful

Gideon Coe, for me, is still by far be best DJ on 6 Music. If that ever changes, I'll be tuning out for ever.

glennquagmire - same as you...if GidCoe goes, I go; not that it matters to 6music's management.
I think they've got a good mix but unimpressed with replacement of Tom Robinson's saturday with Blessed Madonna; Tom was/is great, she has her place but IMO not in that time slot.
Craig Charles just gets better every week; each to their own.
Ravers deserves more airtime.
Keep Cerys - and I quite like Lammo.

If they are moving away from being so indie focussed I might listen more.

I didn't like him at breakfast but grew to like the afternoon show.

She is awful. Not a matter of taste, she's just really bad at her job. Long pauses, losing her thread, meaningless rambles, wasting interviews with interesting guests... She's about the only 6 music DJ I'll switch off.
