Terry Pratchett. Any of the Discworld. Or Good Omens with Neil Gaiman. Dark yet funny.

Alan Partridge's book

+1, genuine laugh out loud, from the first few sentences.

The smell my cheese moment from his perspective is briliant

Not quite an audiobook but the Mighty Boosh radio series is absolute genius as is the League of Gentlemen. Might not be too good an idea listening to stuff that funny whilst driving though!

Can't believe you don't like Partridge.

How about a Michel Thomas language CD? Not really 'entertainment' but you can make productive use of your time. We did it on the way down to France and found it quite useful.

I downloaded Dom Jollys book for the same purpose. It is about dark tourism, visiting lebanon, North Korea etc. very good, interesting and funny. Can't remember what is is called but should be easy enough to find.

HHG2TG is well worth it!

I seem to spend a large amount of travel time listening to ISAHAC, though!

Use your iPad to play games instead. Its amazing how many were doing so on the m25 today in slow moving traffic.

A scanner darkly narrated by Paul Giamatti. Listened to the whole thing in several sittings.

Properly messed up psychedelia!
