Please nominate ONE song for the 60s summer soundtrack. The only thing I would ask is that it not be too obscure (somewhat subjective, I know).

Please name the some and the band, and ONLY THEN, provide a video if you wish.

Bus Stop, The Hollies

Tomorrow Never Knows - The Beatles.

Possibly their finest hour?

"Soul sacrifice" by Santana.  Really hard to choose just one artist but it had to be from Woodstock in 1969.

Here's a vid as per redmex's nomination.  It's "baby please don't go" featuring Van Morrison with Them from 1964.

Too many too choose from but here’s one I would suggest.  There’s not been enough soul on here so perhaps this will start to correct the balance.

Nothing sounds more like summer than Ska / Rocksteady, so I'll give you

(admit it, who thought The Specials was the original?)

Someone (ie not me) needs to make this fine compilation a Spotify playlist.

Because its the only 60s song I actually remember from the sixties.  Plenty of great 60s stuff I know and love but this one I have actual memories of hearing

+1 for Incredible String Band so as already been nominated I thought Fairport and Who Knows Where the Time Goes would be rather apt.
