My Dad died nearly 5 years ago at the age of 52, from a heart attack and I’ve just had a phone call from my Mum as my uncle (Dad’s younger brother) who’s now 52 is in hospital having just had a heart attack.
Looks like I’ve gotta stay fit and have fun (I've got another 24 years) as 52 seems like a pretty shirty age to be in this family 🙁
Live every day like it might be your last. Unless you're 52 in which case dont excite yourself.

better than not being in it anymore
My dad died back in '76, dropped dead at the age of just 50 with a heart attack completely out of the blue. I went through the '50' barrier 5 years ago, was most strange to be older than my Dad was! But now I'm through it and still biking, not sure what the future holds, but I now tend to just forget it and just get on with life. I'm modelling myself on my uncle who was an reformed alcoholic who once smoked 60 a day and lived to be 85 🙄 . PS probably best not to do too much family research if you get nervous of these type of things, I stopped at my GG Grandfather when I began to realise all my male ancestors died at around late 50's of very early 60's. 😯

That's not too bad as my Grandfather died young, but as a result of poor treatment and lung problems from being a POW in WW2 and my GreatGrandfather died in WW1 and my Mum's side isn't too bad as my Grandad was 84.
past performance is no indicator of future peformance. if i'd been born 50 years earlier i'd have been long gone thank goodness for medical advancement/ nhs/ dry warm housing/ plentiful clean food water/ sanitation
after that its the luck of the draw..
