Be the guinea pig, it's only a tenner, that's only three cups of artisan coffee!

Is this the mtb fitness one endorsed by Steve Peat? It's OK, not revelatory.  Stretch, lift weights, get enough sleep and recovery time, eat well basically. It obviously goes into a little more detail on how to do those things. I like Matt who runs mtb fitness and have done his 12 week fitness plan a couple of times in the days before it was a subscription app. I also bought his nutritional guide. The over 50 thing covers some of the same ground as these. If you don't have any of his other products, I'd say yes it's worth it. If you have others, less so.

Rather than pay a tenner, jusy observe Columbus's rules for Zombie Land... most are also applicable to mountain biking 😆

The rules

#1: Cardio - When the virus struck, for obvious reasons, the first ones to go were the fatties.
#2: Double Tap - In those moments when you're not sure the undead are really dead dead, don't get all stingy with your bullets.
#3: Beware of Bathrooms - Don't let them catch you with your pants down.
#4: Buckle up - Fasten your seat belts. It's gonna be a bumpy ride.
#5: Travel Light -And I don't mean just luggage.
#6: Don't be a hero
#7: Limber up -
#8: When in doubt, always know your way out
#9: The buddy system -
#10: Check the back seat -
#11: Enjoy the little things -
#13: Shake It Off -
#14: Always Carry a Change of Underwear -
#16: Opportunity Knocks -
#17: Don't be a Hero - Why don't you take this one?
#17: Be a Hero - Some rules are made to be broken. (Rule updated)
#18: Limber Up - Going down that hill, it is very important.
#19: Break It Up -
#20: It's a Marathon, Not a Sprint, Unless It's a Sprint, then Sprint -
#22: When in Doubt, Know Your Way Out
#23: Ziploc™ Bags - You got enough problems, moisture shouldn't be one of them.
#24: Use Your Thumbs -
#25: Shoot First -
#26: A Little Sunscreen Never Hurt Anybody -
#27: Incoming! -
#28: Double-Knot Your Shoes -
#30: Pack Your Stain Stick -
#31: Check the Back Seat - No one back there but my duffel bag.
#32: Enjoy the Little Things - I hate to give credit to anyone who looks like Yosemite Sam, but I'm writing it down.
#36: Sunscreen
#42: Keep Your Hands to Yourself - It's just polite.
#52: Don't Be Afraid to Ask for Help - Yeah and they ignored rule 52: don't be afraid to ask for help.
#53: Wet Naps -

Well at 49 I'm thinking I'm getting more and more tempted to get an e-mtb. That new Amflow DJI is nice. Although at 50 I kinda expected I'd be buying a 911 Turbo. Oh well!

Don't crash, it hurts. Or in my case I wasn't screaming enough when I extensively fractured my pelvis and hip socket and the NHS missed it. At 55 I am back on the bikes and no motors after four months.

Ride it like you stole it (i.e. very carefully so that you don't attract any attention.)

Looks like plenty have read it according to the reviews. Some examples:

"A must"

"Full of good informations."
"I highly recommend reading and using the tips "
"Reviewer didn't leave any comments"

etc

I'm sure there are already more than 50 things that I know I should be doing, but I'm not.

It might be worth checking out, I’m in the process of getting one of my bikes fully serviced and back out on the road, that’s my Trek Remedy 66, followed by my Inbred Hooligan Hardtail, then last, but not least, my Inbred 853 SS. But before I start riding again, I’m getting a set of Decathlon D3O soft armour - knee, arm and short liners with D3O pads down the side. Having been dumped on the ground at walking speed hard enough to leave me with osteoarthritis in my left knee which took the brunt of the impact, and also my left arm and the side of my face, at nearly 71 I’m not taking any chances! 😖🤬

Oh, and the Giro Xen I was wearing has gone in the bin, and a new POC lid is also on the shopping list…

…it’s about time I got my sorry ass back on a bike, now I’m retired and have time to get out and enjoy some fresh air and sun.
