I’m already giving loads of stuff to a local group, are you happy with your visibility now Poops? Or is it only me that can see you?

Cheers Northwind. Didn't mean to upset anyone.

This actually came up on hotUKdeals of all places so thought I'd share.

Huge apologies mate. You are referring to my post where I thought no one could see my, erm, posts. I totally got the wrong end of the stick!

Lord, I can be a plonker sometimes. 😉

Done (sort of) - because even in leafy Surrey we have homelessness and rough sleeping. So while I haven't bought one of those vouchers I have put the cost of one of the nights out I won't be having into my local scheme instead.

https://www.guildfordaction.org.uk/about-us

Just as not everyone in Guildford is rich (30% of kids in the area of Guildord I live in are in poverty) I know that not everyone on STW is comfortably well off, but if you have a bit to spare because you don't have to go on one of those hated office nights out, please consider not just banking it.

Donating.

Another nice idea doing the rounds this Christmas - not quite as efficient but still cool...

If your office/team dinner in a restaurant has been cancelled this christmas because of covid persuade the others going and paying (or the company if they were paying) to pay for it anyway. Still pay the restaurant to cook the food, only take it to a homeless shelter instead. Restaurant gets to stay in business, people who needed the food more than you anyway get some grub.

I've been trying hard to convince people I don't need any more novelty socks or crappy dad joke books and things like this are far better for me, them, humanity and the planet but it's a surprisingly hard sell to some of my family.

Any Sheffield locals, The Archer Project is the place to donate to. I got them a couple of large turkeys for their Christmas dinner this year and normally donate something each year.

I think some people see it as 'virtue signalling' and feel judged by your 'superior' non-consumerist choices. They need to get a ****ing grip though.
