Youngest daughter, 26yrs, wants to have a chilled few days away at the end of Oct with me. She would like it to be warm and would like to be near the sea. She doesnt want anything other than to chill out from her work stress.
She doesnt mind airbnb/self catering or a hotel.

Im assuming the weather will still be UK summer warm, but will shops be open? Maybe even a restaurant? If we are SC accommodation, then a kitchen to cook in would be ideal.

We want to fly from Manchester ideally. I was thinking Canaries, but the sea is cold and the sand isnt real, so thats out.

Would Alicante or environs fit the bill? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks

Ian

Not sure about Alicante, but how about south coast of Spain - Malaga, or Portugal?

Alicante might be grey by then. That said, Denia and Xabia are lovely despite being a stones throw from the hideousness of Benidorm.

Malaga / Nejra is a good shout. Many of the beachfront places will be shut, but what’s left is generally nice (more local than touristy). Malaga city is amazeballs: truly beautiful and very active.

How’s about Nice / Monaco / Imperia, (cough ahem), Finale?? 😉 Genoa / La Spezia are poo: Consett-by-the-sea.

Croatia?

easyjet/hire car/Airbnb FTW.

check half term times. End of oct is usually the start of it.

In true STW style my response ignores part of your requirenent so...North Macedonia.
It's landlocked so a long way from any beach, north of Greece and relatively undiscovered.
Capital is Skopje which, to me, looks interesting.

Is she constrained to school holidays as she'd be paying less either side of half term

Late October alicante weather could be unpredictable, it could be hot and sunny, or could rain.  If you stay somewhere where there's more going on, denia or altea, if the weather's bad you could go to a spa for the day.  Flight prices, unless it's half term, are good, I paid 20 quid next week man-alc, Ryanair.  Denia at a centralish hotel, you don't need a car.

Another +1 for Malaga or Cyprus. Done both in mid October and the weather was fantastic at both.

Somewhere between Cadiz and Gibraltar - lovely place, great food, usually still hot in October
