Ok so I've been on 3 dates with this woman, she's pretty average looking but we get on quite well however I'm beginning to think I'm her meal ticket.

1st date I bought all the drinks all night £40
2nd date a Thai meal and rinks £80
3rd date cinema and prezzo £80

I don't mind paying initially but not once has she offered to buy a round of drinks on any of our 3 dates is this the sign of things to come. Am I being unreasonable? I don't think I am as I would of at least expected her to offer at some point!

What do the STW massive think, shall I get out quick?

Say your next date is going to be fish and chips at your place, as you're skint until pay day, that should test her!

I've alway been in relationships/a marriage where everything is more of less equal! She has no kids a resonably paid job in teaching,I have to support my little girl and fund my biking too!

Does she work? Do you?

But judging by the tone of your post, you're not exactly catch of the day.

What's a prezzo?

I do think that if she is not making some contribution to dates by this stage then you either have massive cultural differences or you are being used .

have you had any pay back from the investment yet? Weigh the quality of that up against the cost so far.

No I am a gent, and things haven't progressed to the bedroom yet! I am attracted to her physically and I'm only average looking myself but she says I'm fit in appearance sense not the fitness sense haha

I would walk. I might pay a first date, I would expect equal shares after that. I certainly wouldn't consider taking this any further

Same as Drac, my missus has never bought a drink or a meal since our first date back in 1985

I'd be horrified if she even suggested it

Because it hasn't happened in 27 years?

Irrelevant anyway, all our money is just in one big pot that we both use

If you're asking the question, you already know the answer. Id do date 4 purely to get some return on investment, but that'd be it.

Hmmmmm tricky. You've invested a fair bit of cash in this now, you could walk away and guaranteed no more losses. But in the back of your mind you're thinking, "maybe one more date". But what if nothing happens on that one either? Or the next? It's throwing good money after bad.

Sounds like you tried to seal the deal with the present on date 3, but that didn't work.

Best option - ask her round to yours for a takeaway and a DVD. A cheap night, and everyone knows what it means. Still no action after that then walk away.

This is the answer to the question you were really asking isn't it? 😉

Date 4 should be at your house anyway (for obvious reasons) regardless of money.
So go with that.

Put away the gimp suit before she comes over tho.

If you lot are going to run you whole life based on pounds and pence and continually looking for a return on every £ you spend.

You'll end up all bitter and twisted - just look at TJ 😉

Sweet baby Jesus and the orphans! So you've a little mental calculator totting up how much you've spent? The meter running, so to speak? Some of you lot are are as tight as a gnats chuff.

Speaking of which, what's Hora's take on this? He's water-tight, that bugger!

We live in an age of austerity and financial turmoil - returns on any investments are not what they used to be. Perhaps the OP should try hedging his funds with a wide range of women to avoid disappointing returns.

Are you keeping the dinner receipts for your accountant? You may be able to write some of it off against tax.

From the picture Hora paints of himself, women throw themselves and their money at him just to feel his faintest touch.

OP,tell her you'd like to go out,but you're skint for a few weeks, then leave it up to her.If she's interested she'll make a move,if not it will be "ring me when you've got money",or something similar.

nice! you smooth talker you.

Pay for as many dates as you like but not even an offer of splitting the bill from her is a bit off.

The night I met my mrs I made sure she got the first round in

Well I'd already bought a different girl a couple beers that night and she'd disappeared, wasn't going to fall for it twice 🙂

My wife sometimes pays for meals out. Although in fairness, as she is a stay at home mum and has no income of her own i do give her an allowance every month so effectively I'm paying anyway.

"No I am a gent," .... You Sir are clearly not. 👿

“she's pretty average looking”

and

“If she was smoking hot would you be complaining?
“In theory no!”

Whelk

Wonder what she’s posting on “Girlie Track World” ?

I’ve been on three dates with some fella, he is not bad looking but he’s as boring as hell and very shallow. Thing is, he’s happy to pay and hasn’t really tried it on (thank god!) Should I carry on seeing him ??

My missus took great offence on our first date when I insisted on paying, (she told me later) after that we go halves when we are both working. Right now, I'm on the allowance and she pays for everything (except new pedals, a reverb and Blur LTc)

Hi 5 binners, wow, Sbrock, you sound just great... 🙄

I take it you asked her out on the dates, and maybe I'm guessing you suggested where to go, right? cool, your paying then LOL

If I fancied her, date 2 would have been at my place!!

Don't forget though Emsz: “she's pretty average looking”, so maybe not worth the price of a few glasses of wine and a meal? 🙄

Obviously STW forumites are all used to have really classy good-looking women falling at their feet. While buying them drinks, obviously 😉

This thread says more about this site than any other thread I think I’ve ever read.

So you think after 3 dates she should “put out”

“Returns on investment”?

“mental calculator”

I have genuinely LOL’d… but in an embarrassed way.

I'm not desperate no, it's not hard in ths day and age to meet women for sex!

The lady in question persued me and I went out on the first date purely out of curiosity to find out about her, she is quite an interesting person and yes I do actually fancy her! Anyway dinner date is on at her house!

I better take some vino just in case she thinks I'm tight!

this thread has intersted and amused me. I have a colleague in her mid 40's split from hubby 18months ago, got new boyfriend at christmas but was not best impressed by him so in her words turned into firends with benefits, then she met someone else 3 weeks ago and seems very happy with him, but it seems to take less than a week from meeting to spending almost every night staying over with a new man. She is a good friend so i dont comment but having been married for some years i'm weel out the dating scene. Maybe i'm old fashioned but this all seemed quite fast to me, but having read this thread maybe not.

oh and enjoy your dinner date
