£65 for a pair from the Muckboot Co.

Best boots I've ever had, and I wear them a LOT !

So no, £35 isn't excessive if you get enough use out of them.

I don't think it's excessive, some places charge £80 for trainers that never touch the floor

Does she keep them on?

BTW - I procured my wellies from my old work in 1995 - still looking as good as the day I got them

I've got some £80 Wellies, Dunlop thermal ones. I wouldn't be without them in winter when I work outside in freezing temperatures.

Standing on frozen ground with toasty feet, worth every penny. Not fashionable at all BTW but I don't care..

Muckboots from Uttings here, as recommended by neilglover, among others. Been essential recently, what with rain and snow, and everything like a swamp. If you want boots you can actually go for a walk in, they're the ones.

Dunlop Agri Pro £15 for my lsat set, fine for festivals and plodding round.
If you are going to use them every other day then pay more.
Hunters, proper country wellies bit like rangerovers, only acceptable if covered in sh*t

Muckboots fall apart.

I've had mine a few years and they get worn 50+ hours a week over winter.

I guess I'm an "experienced user"

They've not fallen apart.

Any festival over the last few years has been awash with hunters even when it's sunny ffs!
Common as muck!

Neil, our 3 lads tried them on our outdoor pig farm and found them not up to the job. We're on flint and they just cut up. Everyone is in Puroforts now and we get no problems. What do you do?

I'm a Valeter, so they are worn for warmth and to keep my feet dry.
And be extremely comfortable so I can wear them all day and be as comfortable as I would be in trainers.
Which I guess is what most people who buy wellies are wanting.

I've had various different boots and these are by far the best I've worn.

If anyone is after a pair of boots for walking the dog and stuff like that, you will never need to buy another pair.

Hunters always getting slagged. I bought mine in 1985 for fishing and 28 years later, not a single leak! The grip on the sole is nearly smooth, so only good for washing the car now. I guess the quality maybe not as good these days, can't comment.

My oh's lasted three months of dog walking and then started leaking, they replaced them though, so not all bad..

I was intending replacing my Hunters with Muckboots, till the other halfs started leaking through the sole after only 5 months wear (dog walking). My 5 year old hunters have had a reprieve.

The current Mrs. Pinkster bought me a pair of Hunter wellies for Christmas 2 years ago, they cost about 70 quid and lasted less than 8 months, with both the soles and sides cracking. Not impressed at all.

I normally get through about a pair a year walking the dog and have always found bog standard Dunlops the best, and they're about 15 quid a shot.
