In Aboyne at the moment on a tour of cycle hot spots and my hope BB is feeling a bit rough. Tried 3 bike shops in Banchory and no stock . We are heading to  Aberdeen  so who would be our best bet ??

Thanks Si

Ballater? Cycle Highlands are good. Wrong way but worth a call.

I don't know that many others that I've used - Bike Remedy (Stonehaven) may be worth a try. Assuming you've done 20Twenty, Banchory cycles and Rembike in Banchory?

I would say cycle Highlands in Ballater is your best bet. I would be amazed if any of the Aberdeen bike shops had any stock.

Wait, actually I’m not even sure if there are any bike shops left in Aberdeen other than Halfords. Oh yeah, Edinburgh Bikes - good luck there…

There are industrial bearing supply companies (Scots bearings?) in Aberdeen (near the airport). If you can get the bearing out the cup that might be an option.

They are standard bearings so look for industrial suppliers as well. A few hand tools and you can make a half decent job of swapping them over. Use the old bearings as a drift to get the new ones in.

Other option is to get a really fine blade and some gt85, lift the seal and clean them in situ. Top off with whatever grease you can find.

They're just a 6806 bearing, and whilst Hope use a high spec Enduro bearing as OEM, if you just need some to get you out of a pickle, you can pick up any old cheap ones from a bearing supplier and pack them full of grease to get you going for a while...

Quite a few places in and around Aberdeen deal with bearings due to the oil industry, but https://www.scots-bearings.co.uk/contact-us/aberdeen/ come to mind in Dyce.
