I want to do a bit more bivvying and camping throughout the autumn and winter.
Any suggestions for a new 3/4 season synthetic sleeping bag?
I know and understand the pros and cons for the down and synthetic bags etc, but given the conditions for most of the autumn and winter in this country synthetic makes more sense, right?
I used to believe that too. I have used two MH Lamina bags of different weights and if you're set on synthetic I'd look at that range first
However, I now use down bags/quilt as I've yet to experience an actual problem.

In theory yes, in practice no.
I've slept in bivvy bags numerous times, and in snowholes, cars, tents etc and never wetted out the Down bag.
About the only place worth taking a synthetic bag over down is El Cap, because otherwise the park authorities will sue you if you need a rescue, but apart from that....
