My Gearbox is apparently knackered and the garage has told me I need to source a second hand one which they'll then fit. Never done this before - does anyone know of good suppliers in the Southampton/Hampshire area - Silverlake is the only one I know of and currently they're not bothering to pick up their phone!
If you're getting the gearbox done, it may well be worth replacing the clutch and pressure plate (possibly DM flywheel too if it has one) at the same time, if its not been done in the last few years. Whilst it may not need doing now, the extra time to fit a clutch whilst the gearbox is already out is perhaps half an hour to an hour max compared to the best part of a day if the gearbox has to come out first.
