Good evening

I've just acquired a Charge Cooker 27.5 plus frame for a bit of a bargain price BUT I haven't got any plus wheels

I do however have some Spank Spoon 32 wheels with Hutchinson Griffus 2.5 tyres installed - would this be OK and classed as a 'plus' tyre and would therefore work or do I really need 2.8 on i40 rims etc etc

I understand the BB will be lower and pedals strikes more likely but how much lower would it be ?? Maybe run 20mm extra on the fork to help compensate??

Advice would be greatly appreciated

Have a great evening

It'll be fine, just a bit lower BB height as you say. If you have a pair of suitable 29er wheels and 2"ish tyres they will also work fine!

Extremely likely the fork will fit a 29 if it'll do 27.5+. Grab a rim and some spokes and mullet it would be my suggestion.

Just try what you've got then, should be right.

from memory, comparing 2.35 27.5, to 2.8 27.5 and 2.3 29, the plus and the 29s were far closer in OD than the 27.5 and the +. i posted my comparisons up on here FWIW. but you know it's just bikes, and i'm sure you'll get on fine however you build it up.

Slightly stealth addsy but I've got a set of nice Plus wheels with dt hubs and i40 rims plus tyres in the attic, they're nonboost though.

You have the forks...

For at least a while the 27.5+ and 29er Cookers used the same frame and forks.  Ad Del says, 29 and 27.5+ are practically the same diameter.

With 2.5 tyres my bottom bracket middle to floor is 310mm , my Cube Fritzz is 330mm so might give it a go

If you read about someone having a pedal strike and ending up under a lorry you'll know who it didn't work out 😬
