You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I know I’m not tbh doomanic , but I’ve done it the same way before and lost weight ok . The wife is on it ( pretty much) full time so I just go along with it to help out meal wise & it usually kicks in on a Wednesday....just seem to be clogging up this time for some reason (?)
I can't offer any advice with the clogging as I never suffered from it other than eat more fibre.
My metabolism isn’t the fastest anyway to be honest- just hoping everything gets a good shake about on the bike in the morning
Late to the party but have added my name and target and a weigh in this week. Have been mainly trying to cut down on the snacking that has increased over the various lock downs
0.5kg down this week and feeling good at this rate of descent 😁
Decent loss week this week "1.3kg" considering the crap weather and limited mileage on the road bike. Additionally sticking with walking every day which i now really look forward, and hitting my 5hrs weekly target, .
Is anyone else using "Pinch of Nom" cookbooks? Finding some really quick/easy/tasty recipes that fill me up and are low on the calorie count.
Forgotten it was weigh in day. Lockdown v2.2 is really not going well. Wondering if I ought to take a pregnancy test having caught myself in the mirror last night.
0.9kg list this week and last, good to see the weight continue to drop after a few week of stalling. I'm still not managing any exercise though ☹️
Only 0.6kg of this week but took my foot off the gas a little and was a little freer with food but back on it this coming week and still well within my overall target range. Started the week off back up 1.5kg though so happy to still have made a loss by today.
Recommend My Fitness Pal to anyone who's struggling and wants to give it a go. Log everything though as there's lots of sneaky calories hidden away!
After the slight blip last week, I've managed to lose 0.6kg this week.
I'd taken some other metrics at the beginning... some good progress:
Blood pressure before 133/91, BP now 124/74
Average resting heart rate before 58bpm, now 49bpm
Qualitatively, my trousers are much looser and I've gone in a notch on the belt!
Managed to do a fair bit more riding this last couple of weeks; seems to be paying off 🙂
0.3kg lost this week. Not ground-breaking, but the numbers seem to be consistently going in the right direction, which is great.
I haven't been trying particularly hard; just conscious of not shovelling everything I fancy into my mouth.
Not shifted anything this week, I've also not put anything on so there is that.
2lb. OK with that. 16/8 going quite well, although my meal at 1pm today kind of defeats the object (start of half term so sweet chilli chicken by Deliveroo, as the kids were getting something)
Now 15-3
2Kg in the last week, which I'm really pleased with considering last week was static. 5.5 Kg down from New Years eve so really pleased with that. Still a long way to go. Feeling stronger in the legs though, bending down, and crucially getting back up is easier. Be nice to be back under 100Kg which is looking likely next week, next milestone will be 97 KG which gets me back below the magic BMI of 30, at this rate should be end of March.
Still not ridden my bike, been too windy (and I mean windy, not light breeze) or icy to ride since new year, I can cope with cold or wet but not wind and ice. Given the altitude and time of year though both are fairly likely so its more mind numbing exercise bike for the time being. Should be in good shape when I finally get the road bike out though.
3rd week in a row that I'm stuck at 79kg! Was up to 80 earlier in the week as my resolve started to wane so had a Maccy D's plus a few choccy bars but got that back down for today. Considering having a day or two to blow out the cravings seeing as it's coming up to Pancake Day, usually do anyway so hopefully it'll help me get things moving in the right direction again numbers-wise. I'm still visibly getting thinner but it's slowed right down and my muscle mass is getting better, especially my calves from all the Zwifting and walking, so going to try upping the weights sessions a bit and see if targeting a different part of the body gets things moving again. The weather improving will help too as I haven't been out on the bikes in the real world for over a month, far too easy to just hit the turbo instead. Would be different if I could go to any of the local trail centres, the local trails are just too tame and busy to drag me out the door right now. Must be just bored of them!
After 4 weeks holding steady at 81kg with not much effort this week I cut out a bit of food, and when I did have a takeaway it was just chicken wings for the superbowl. Also got out for a few walks and did some time on the rowing machine so was active most days, scales today showing 79.3kg. Original target was 79 but will now try to get to 75 with the time we have left.
Not sure if its just me, but i cant see any data on the spreadsheet.
Not just you, appears the content has been deleted, was there this morning.
Not just you, but the good thing about Google sheets is that you can see who did the deleting and wind back to that point.

I have restored it to 2PM - I hope no-one minds - Data is back.
Who was it! Own up. 3.22pm...
Before the pitchforks are sharpened - can I point out I am only a Muppet with a very rudimentary Google sheet knowledge who does not work in IT.
my edits from about 2pm are still there
Hope it wasn’t me. I added to it this afternoon but not sure the exact time! 😬
How is it even possible to delete an entire spreadsheet when all you need to do it type a number into a single cell? 😆
Impressive!
I’m still off the booze, eating well with a slight deficit and running/cycling 5/6 days per week. Weight is going down steadily. Just under a kg per week. No mad hunger or cravings.
My Fitness Pal (and my digital scales)are absolute essential tools for me. Really stops me eating for the sake of it and manage portions
With everything going on and hectic ness of work I am amazed I haven’t cracked on the booze front yet.
I put the 100g I lost last week back on. It’s baffling me as I’m definitely not overeating (constant rumbling tum) but after bonking on a ride a couple of weeks ago I’ve come off Keto and am trying low carb instead. I haven’t been logging my food for the last couple of weeks though so I need to get back on top of that.
How is it even possible to delete an entire spreadsheet
Control + A, then Del. Whoops. (Wasn't me, I did mine early Friday morning 🙂 )
Edit...I just checked to see if my weight was still there...it did a refresh as soon as it opened... There are no names but all the weights are there. I tried the undo button with no luck. Pretty sure it wasn't me, perhaps someone is playing games?
EditEdit... Names seem be have been moved to column B, and worrying, my start weight has been removed but I haven't edited anything since entering my weight yesterday about 6am! I'm not going to fiddle as I presume it needs restoring again.
I can see "Anonymous Iguana" browsing the spreadsheet... don't be playing games/framing me 🙂
Same hackers who hit CDPR? The STW chub club data must be worth a fair few bob on the blackmarket...
Hi all - I have fixed the spreadsheet, should be correct now. Some fat bastard has definitely meddled with it... anyway all good now. 7 weeks to go, all the best 🙂
Depressingly no weight shifted this week. I feel grumpy and resentful. No booze, vanishingly little bread. B****s I'm going to have to ask the OH to cut down on any fat when they're cooking aren't I ...
Couldn't sleep so an early weigh-in and 1.2kg down 😁. Keep on keeping on.
0.9 up!!! I've been desk bound all week due to a colleague being on holiday, but so busy I've not had time for much snacking! Balls
P.S Was it during last weeks 'hack' that the spreadsheet was renamed as 'Brown Chub Club 2021'?
Another 0.5kg off this week.
Need to up the game to hit my target in the remaining time.... I WILL get to my target, it just might take a little longer!
0.8kg decrease this week which is ok after an increase last weekend due to too much chocolate. Now into the 80's so with a bit of focus hoping to hit my target of 85kg in 6 weeks time.
Bit disappointed this week - only 0.3kg off and I have really been putting the hours in exercising and am still tracking all my food intake and have been hitting the right numbers. That said, even though I have been hitting the calorie numbers I have snuck a bit more chocolate in so the free and easy sugar may not be helping. Will cut that back out and see if it makes a difference.
Ah well, down is good and my body fat % has come down too and I guess some weeks more will come off than others. Bang on a BMI of 30% though so even another 100g and I am no longer medically obese so little targets to hit along the way 🙂
Just about got the road bike back into a state where it can be ridden outdoors again also so will be getting some outdoor km's in as well soon. Always nicer to exercise outside...
Still the same. Oh well, better than a gain I suppose.
+0.8kg
Grr, bloody half term innit.
Put on 700g this week.
I did eat a lot of brownies though, so it was probably worth it 😆
83.8kg today, so at least going in the right direction.
Same as last week which after a week a mucho cake I was pleasantly surprised at. Still no cycling but have been doing manual work this week so at least not just stuck at a desk.
Disappointed this week to nothing off, the wife got a fruit hamper with loads of bananas and made a banoffee pie so that scuppered me.
Negative 200g this week, which is surprising and I'll.probablu put it all back on next week as it's the boy's birthday so I'll have to eat cake. Mmmmm, cake.
Up a kilo this week. Not surprising as Valentines and Pancake Day falling in the same week were always going to cost me. Still not logging my food so I really need to give myself a kick in the arse for that.
@doomanic - I wouldn't lost weight without logging food intake. It's amazing what difference that couple of slices of bread or handful of nuts or that sneaky chocolate bar make. Particularly on days with a low exercise load...
Oh, I know how important it is, I'm just not at the right point mentally to be obsessing over it unfortunately. Or exercising for that matter.
**************BREAKING NEWS CHUB CLUB!!!*********************
This is the bonus edition: Chub Club has been extended by a further 5 weeks, the new target date is now the 7th May! Those targeting the original date of 2nd April still can, it's still all in the spreadsheet. With the weather improving and possible changes in Lockdown coming.... I think a bonus extension is much needed. Big well done to those who are maintaining their weekly target weight in Jan/Feb.
Nice one Coconut... still a chance!
Excellent news😎 Making good progress, but I'll be needing further extensions to reach my ultimate goal 😂
Not a great week - But considering the volume of wine I’ve got through, only outing on 100g seems like a win. Back on it properly next week
Only 300g down but all progress, fitness is improving and trousers starting to feel looser so all going in the right direction. I shall be continuing until I stop, hopefully mid summer at the earliest.
Good news. I'm almost on track which is impressive considering I've had no outdoor exercise at all in January or so far in February. The weather up here in NE Scotland has been atrocious but is looking up. I'm confident I can make up for lost time even though tonight is curry night!!!!!!!!!!!!
If like me your weight has gone up... it's likely to be the additional weight of hair, hairdressers being shut and all that 😉 There's now an extension, so all achievable still. 11 weeks to go.

A welcome extension as I’ve been stuck around the 80kg mark for months! Down to 78.8kg this week tho so it might still be achievable!! 👍🏼👍🏼
None scale victory today! I could wear a new DHB softshell jersey I got for my birthday last year for a ride . Fort time 😁
@doomanic - I get that 100%. Its where I've been for the last year or two. You'll get there though. The motivation does come.
Well that's not so good only 100g down 😭
Calories all around the same level, though exercise has been down due to my knee flaring up. I am feeling a little heavy, so maybe some inflammation going on. Just have to keep going and hopefully something moves...
Bloody hell, half a kilo back on this week, massive yoyoing. Actually feeling and looking a smidge fitter though.
My body fat is also yoyoing, not sure if that suggests the aging Tanita scales are knackered or I really am having some sort of manopause
-1.7kg this week which I'm really chuffed with. I've been limiting my calorie intake to 1500-2000 calories a day regardless of whether I've exercised or not. Also cutting out the weekend/evening treats of chocolate or fruit seems to have helped.
Slight increase this week.
I did a bit of "comfort eating"... had a headache for 5 days and knee had flared up.
Excuses, excuses!!
Blood pressure is now way-down though.
down 0.3kg - it's a loss but I'm miles away from where I need to be to hit the target I set myself. Lack of any exercise whatsoever is hampering things somewhat.
Down another half kilo but feeling quite dead legged as I imagine my glycogen stores are often low. I *do* feel a bit lighter and fitter though so thanks chubclub!
Hmmm - 0.4kg off which isn't ideal but I've had a dodgy week eating-wise again. Own fault but at least it's still down and my activity levels are still good. Other health metrics (% body fat, resting heart rate, blood pressure etc) are all going in the right direct also.
Need to get back to more sensible eating though to hit my initial target by the close of the competition 🙂
700g off this week which feels like a solid achievement after a couple of weeks stagnation. Feels like I’ve consolidated the losses to date and ready to shift the last bit in March
Back down to 80kgs after my blowout long weekend that I desperately needed. Got up to 80.6kgs after pancake day but lost quite a bit of that quickly, was 79.7kgs on Wednesday but mum's cake yesterday pushed me back up for weigh day. Now that the big gorging session has blown the cravings out of my system I should get back on track to losing 0.5kg per week now for the remainder. The good news though is that the extra weight doesn't show at all, really surprised at that.

Ooh, that's good news! I really struggled to shift any major weight all of January and February as I couldn't get any long rides/multiple rides in due to the weather/sunlight, Zwifting helped but isn't the same. The extra time should mean I can hit 75kgs by May, if I get a good run of it (can we have the same weather as we had last year please!) I may have a chance of hitting the original 73kgs goal.
Back down to 73.6kg this week.
I was down to that a fortnight ago, then up to 74.3kg last week & back down to 73.6 this week.
I tend to take any weekly variation with a pinch of salt & just look at the trend.
Weirdly, I did a workout this morning & forgot to weigh myself beforehand. so before the weigh-in I had consumed:
1 large banana, 1 cup of tea & about 2/3 of a 750ml of water (so about 500ml) & 2 energy gels. The tea must have been 250ml, so getting on for 1kg consumed before weigh-in, so no idea what it would have been without that.
How much sweat can you lose in a 45 minute session!? It felt like a lot 🙂
I tend to take any weekly variation with a pinch of salt & just look at the trend.
I use the average of the last five days, evens out the effects of a brew before bed time etc., a cup of tea is 300 grams or a couple of beers on a Friday night can be a kilo of extra weight for a one off weigh. Still lost half a kilo this week so pleased with that, healthy continuous loss is better than crash dieting.
After putting 2lbs on the week before I was chuffed to bits to lose 4 this . No big secret , just cut down on my portion size and hey presto!
Thumbs up from me about the date extension - May looks more realistic to get to my target if I’m honest.
1.7kg off this week - happy with that. Had a quiet week exercise-wise however I have been pushing it hard so just taken in a few easy works etc and let my body recover and recharge for another push up the fitness ladder. Looking forward to the gyms reopening as well so I can get some more variety into what I do.
Food intake has been ok, not quite as controlled as the early weeks and need to keep an eye on that however it is all still logged in MFP so I am not hiding anything from myself 🙂
Another milestone ticked off also - lost over 10kg now 🙂
Surprised to see I'd lost another pound or so despite feeling dead on my feet since blood donation on Friday. Weigh Thursday morning after a run and a plethora of bathroom visits as that gives the most cheering results!
But was so cold after the run and couldn't get warm. Have now burrowed under the dog...
And god only knows why I did my weigh-in today when it's Thursday. I have had it in my head that today is Friday and have done since Tuesday. Don't know what's going on. Will update again tomorrow! As you were...
A disappointing 200g down this week, but atleast it's down. 2300-2400cals, but little exercise due to knee issues. Hopefully got the knee on the way to mending which will help , but I might have to drop the cals a couple of hundred. But BMR can't be far off that anyway and I am doing more than lying down all day
79.6kg this week, moving in the right direction again. Strangely even though I ate less than 1800 calories yesterday and did a Zwift race follows by a weights session and walked to the shops and back I still put on 200g overnight! As long as the general trend is in the right direction though I'll take it.
Not losing any....knee getting in the way of exercise apart from at the weekend and then limiting the intensity.
Not limiting the trips to the fridge in compensation however.
I'm waiting until tomorrow. Either the scales are broken or it's because I've not been for a no.2 yet but it's not good news because they say I've put a kilo on in a week.
Lost 200g this week - down to 73.4kg.
Definitely going in the right direction. Probably slower than I would like, but then I am not calorie counting & not being massively well behaved to be honest.
As long as I keep a steady downwards trend, I am happy! Not managed to get below 73kg for probably well over a decade, so if I can get there before the end of March I'll be happy (although by next week would be preferable!).
Right - 102.8kg having weighed myself on the correct day. I have found this in the past that whilst I am loading the exercise my weight doesn't come down as much but after a restful week everything adjusts and I lose a bit more weight so I think that's where the 2.6kg has gone from.
Am having a cheeky Dominos tonight though so may undo all the hard work for next week!
Was a pleasant surprise on Wednesday - put my rucksack on for the first time in a while and really had to tighten the waist strap 🙂
Some great work above.
0.8 kg down for me... happy with that after last week's slight gain!
Lots of knee pain, but I'm doing load of rehab stuff, hitting the Ibuprofen and getting out. Feeling better for it!
Just ordered a new bike... so the dodgy knee better stop complaining 🙂
Just a 0.3kg loss for me this week but I did weigh in last week after a long run and had an evening off the wagon last Friday to enjoy a nice meal and my first booze/wine since Hogmanay - was definitely good for both body and mind.
Nearly dropped 10kg since the first of Jan (with a quite a bit of muscle mass gone from zero weight lifting) but lots of fat too so still feeling super motivated to press on.
On the plus side the lower upper body mass is definitely making running and cycling up hills much easier...
Okay, so after dropping the kids off at the pool it would appear I'm 0.2kg up on last week which considering I filled myself full of Chinese takeaway last night isn't too bad.
Robz
Nearly dropped 10kg since the first of Jan
10kg since Jan is amazing!! That's pretty much 1kg a week! Makes my total of 2.8kg so far seem a bit pathetic!
Thanks - I have gone at it quite hardcore on the food weighing, calorie tracking and CV exercise. Solid baseline of 2000 kcals per day with extra added depending on amount of exercise. Carbs cycled so low on non-training days. At least 5km walked even on rest days.
There was quite a bit of Christmas bloat that just disappeared within the first couple of weeks and like I said - this approach has definitely cost me muscle mass but I don't really mind this.
About 15 years ago I stopped cycling and got really into weightlifting/eating and I ended up weighing 115kg - I shed a lot of that about 5 years ago dropping down to about 90 kg but still had more muscle mass than I really needed - particularly as I am really mostly into all sorts of cycling again - so I was happy to cut quite hard.
2.8kgs is a solid effort - its all relative. Well done!
Great work Robz 🙂
Some good efforts going on for motivating me.
Dropped some too this week and back on track hopefully.
