I couldn't see an existing thread for this, but it's that time of the year to make outrageous/ implausible predictions for the year ahead. I'll start:

- Brexit will lumber on, until it doesn't. At which point there'll be a general election and everything will stall (for now) about whether there should be a second referendum.
- Trump won't be impeached.
- Liverpool will win the Premier League, but may look a bit iffy along the way
- Ireland to win the Six Nations

What're yours?

Brexit won’t happen (forgive me but I’ve suspected that from day 1) and it’s all a collaboration/show that ensures it doesn’t.

Leeds will somehow bugger up their promotion trajectory to the Premier League.

Trump to run out of Americans to hire for white house press secretaries and end up sharing a stationary cupboard with Julian Assange in the Ecuadorian embassy

May to carry on for the year jibbering on while JRM and friends will continue to support and have no confidence simultaneously

At the very least Brexit will be delayed

Mike Ashley will be on the verge of selling NUFC in December

England win world cup cricket

Andy Murray not back into the top 10

Liverpool to do the League CL Double just to see the look on the Red Mancs faces

The only prediction I will give and have any likelihood of actually happening is I will fall off my bike and hurt myself quite badly. Again.

Always been my thinking since the referendum result. 5/1 odds if you want to put your money where your mouth is.

No deal brexit goes ahead as current deal on offer rejected. No 2nd vote no election.
Indy Ref 2 date set by Scottish Government, this will be closed down by Westminster Government.
A big mass shooting in USA, perhaps the largest yet - will be motivated by either race, religion or politics (or all three).
Record breaking year for London knife deaths.
Multiple droughts and floods leading to key crop shortages around the world.
No slow down for the rate in which the natural world is being wiped out.
Another warning from from the top Scientists about needing to make urgent changes being ignored
Rise of far right populist governments accross the world.
A few flashpoints here and there, threats of a war becoming more common.
Major fallout between EU and USA - serious talk of NATO breaking up.
Record losses on the stock exchanges.
The riots from France will grow across Europe.

My dog will die of CHF or DCM timescale to be determined by a scan in the next week. Everything else can go to hell in a handcart at present, I don't care.

In a similarly likely prediction, the sun will rise in the east, before setting in the west, once a day.

First contact (sometime around August).
Richard Branson stands for Parliament on a broad coalition platform.
Yorskhire holds an independence referendum.
Scotland sells all future rights to North Sea oil and buys England with the proceeds.
Lewis Hamilton breaks the Reliant Robin world land speed record.
Trump announces he has cloned himself so the US can have the bestest President indefinitely. He also announces plans to use the clones to expand Trumpism across the globe.
Brexit fails to materialise in any recognisable form.
