Hi, I have been to my local Giant shop to look at a possible purchase and they have a few Trance Advance 2 left in either M or L at a reasonable price. Having a 2014 canyon spectral in a size M I have learned at my own expenses that sizing is everything and that it will make or break your riding experience. I’m 5’8” and the Giant sizing chart seat me comfortably in a M size however I intend to go wider bars and a much shorter stem and i’m worried that doing so will heavily compromise the stability of the bike when going fast downhill as a M has only a reach of just 435mm with a 760mm bars and 60mm stem as standard so I was thinking on going up a size to facilitate these changes. Has anyone on this forum riden this particular bike or model and going up a size to improve the overall experience of the ride?! Any advice will be much appriciated! 👍
The giant charts are pretty spot on imo.im 5’11 on a medium Anthem and it’s spot on.
Thanks for your advice, much appriciated
A large would be far too big for you. I'm on a large 2017 anthem and at 6ft exactly I wouldn't want to go any bigger.
6.11 here and on a medium. Large would be too big for you I would say.
Edit 5.11 not 6.11 That would make ME a giant not the bike.
Great, thank you for the feedback. I just went ahead and purchased one in a medium size.
Thanks mate, I think i’ll Go for the medium. 👍
