Agree, AA. England better across the field so far. Apart from scrums, which remain a mystery to Joubert. Itoje has been impressive, that's for sure.

Yes, but we only see the replays of the important phases. If you went hunting in the footage, I bet you could find loads of cheap shots/neck rolls/hands in face. Not condoning it, but we need to be balanced. It's hardly the turning point in the game.

Watching in a tiny resort (Ugine) just outside Megeve. So far so good. Looks like I was wrong about Wales stepping up 😉

@aa did we go wide too early, straight off a lineout ?

Could we have one of those overhead pics of the scrums with some arrows on the Welsh loose head please!! Japanese to showing overhead pics if the scrums. And you think Marler hinges??? To some extent, I think it's impossible not to, to a degree. Wales scrum need to play the ref. England got pinged at the first 2 scrums, but did what he asked them to.

England are dominant in the scrum. Marler has done nothing wrong. If Samson wants to complain he is free to, either to his mummy or to gatland. The disallowed try was watched on the replay about 6 times. No infringement. If there was, he'll be cited.

Good response by Wales. If they keep the ball and play this is far from over yet. You hAve to think if Wales open up though England won't go scoreless either.

This dominant england scrum looks a bit like its struggling. Been a pretty even contest thus far

He's got these scrum calls wrong, and wales will keep doing it as long as he does.

To be fair it was the same for the earlier ripped ball in the wales 22 which he called knock on.

Joubert is madly quick to blow for not rolling away. On both sides!

Itoje my MOTM so far, though. Glorious play from him.

I was jumping on my bed in the end - that was a great attempt by Wales!

I think England got drawn into an open game in the second half. 19-0 up, play conservative and we would have been comfortable.

Itoje was immense, Watson brilliant under the high ball. A lot to work on, but we are 4 & 0.

2 tries when you should be 14 men.

This.

@olddog - nonsense, both will be part of the Gramd Slam winning side next week. Welsh 18 should have had a straight red, fingers to the eyes. Totally bottled by the TMO, "not enough angles" wtf

Jones will rightly give the side a rollicking for the last 5 mins but taking Ford off was an error. Hopefully he'll see first hand what a differemce it makes with him at 10

That was too close for comfort.

Thought Youngs was awful! I don't think Ford would have got charged down if he hadn't been reaching for a pass around his ankles. So many poor passes within the England team in general but when it's your scrum half (and largely from decent quick ball) in particular you're in trouble.

By that record, both teams should have been at 14. One for rather more of the game.

@tallie indeed, Ford needed a call to say pass or dummy. Priestland took a gamble and it paid off

I'd like to see Ford in a game where 50% of the passes aren't too high, low or arrive at the same time as the back row...

I think England visible tire after about 55-60. We see it often. Tipuric, Ken Owens and Priestland all upped the pace and England wobbled. Charteris should have started too.

Cole got up from that ruck holding his eyes. I think we will see a ban there.

North Try a big fwd pass, but a great end. When the Welsh backs attack at speed they look bloody good!

England looked shabby with the replacements on.

I had to turn that off with 4 to go. I was far too emotional for a game I don't really like that much!

Maybe England were tired, but poor decision making. Poor pass to 10, poor decision to kick Billy going for intercept giving centre the outside. Holding ball in maul too long. Not seeing the obvious pass to Watson.

Also I don't get the mentality of take the yellow to stop the try. when 18 points up just and 10 to go, just defend legally and run down the clock.

I suppose the other obvious question is why Wales can't at least attempt to play the way they played in the last 20 for a full 80?

I know England tired and ultimately ended up with 14 men but to me Wales always look much more dangerous when they throw it around instead of playing a one dimensional kicking game.

Ok I just ran that last tackle on North through frame by frame. He got the pass away before his knee hit the ground. Would his support have gone clean through without Joubert's whistle? Who knows? But the Welsh would have retained the ball at least.

Joubert strikes again.

On the basis of the last 10 minutes Wales should have won. Based on the other 70 - England.

A good experienced team with 15 men

A good inexperienced team with 14 men

Must have been particularly fun for a neutral

And who won the back row battle - perhaps the lack of stupid penalties (Haskell's neck roll apart) gives the answer??

Anyone else notice that they replaced robshaw with a prop? He must have been shattered, he played very well indeed today. Watson, Brown, Kruis all did well too. Nowell was getting pulled all around defensively at the end, hence North getting joy where he wasn't getting any earlier on. Mako was out there making cover tackles!
