You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
*Or, for balance, based on the last men standing
True. 😆
Let's face it, based on the semi-final line ups, none of the 6N means anything.
And come february, someone will be peddling the old "the 6N is the envy of the world" crap again!!!!
None of it matters - you only pick the team 3 weeks before the event based on the brown envelopes that are changing hands.
Is this some cryptic reference to NotToby's move to Bath ?
Seems there is a play off for 5th place in the world cup...
....It is called the 6 nations
Is this some cryptic reference to NotToby's move to Bath ?
No, I was thinking of Burgess, but tell us more.
It get shitcanned last year because of Gatlands law; he wouldn't have been able to select him, 1/2 and JD2 (in hindsight, he may as well have gone!)
I've seen talk of B*** signing Vermulen, Picamoles and other in recent times. Who knows?
Faletau deserves a decent club and he barely played for the Dragons so they aren't losing out a great deal. If he feels he needs a change then I hope Gatland grants it.... it may have a knock on effect with his international game but boy has he earned the right to a few pennies and a change of scenery over the past few years
Faletau is a world class player. He should be giving a central samesque contract at blues or scablets or spreys. He'll get worked to death if he goes to England or France
That is the downside but maybe he wants to experience something fresh while he's still young. Not the best for Wales but he's more than earned the right to do something for himself for a few years IMO. Seems he declined a central contract when offered so I guess there is a wish for something a bit different
ANOTHER AP salary cap investigation whitewash.
"There are no breaches"
"Premiership Rugby and the clubs have now resolved the issues identified and have entered into appropriate confidential settlements."

Sorry loum, just realised that we may have been on about the same thing? I rarely recognise references like NotToby. 😳
What difference doers it make? Even if you continue with the dodging of salary cap that every Prem club that can has been doing since the year dot...You will still reach tipping point,a la Wasps nearly going bust three years ago. And if they do get shot of it all together and you get the same type of moneybags owners that France does, well;how has that worked out for their national team?
Actually,as a proud Scot with our long belief in fair trade...Smash the salary cap!
And if they do get shot of it all together and you get the same type of moneybags owners that France does, well;how has that worked out for their national team?
And the English soccer team.
This instance, it was only Bath and Sarries found to have (not) breached the cap and given a (not) fine. I suggest that many more could had they the same lack of regard for fairness as those two clubs.
@duckman France got as far in the tournament as anyone else from the 6N, their under performance at the tournament was due to factors like the style of play, having a terrible lineout against Ireland and NZ etc.
@aa agreed on Faletau, quality player deserves to play for a decent club and get paid for it. If the Welsh can't deliver that for him then he should play abroad.
The salary cap was introduced as the English clubs where heading for financial disaster. If the French can manage under a different system that's their business.
The referee in Llanelli tonight clearly isn't a Scarlet's fan 😀
Classic bit of commentary by Jonathan Davies too: "All the Scarlets have to do with the ball... is er.... catch it" 😀
Anyone watching Ulster Cardiff. Turnbull very lucky to escape with a yellow. Booted Marshall on the head 'stepping' over a ruck
Shingler not looking well at all- hope he's ok
Scarlets top with the last kick of the game by cm's!
Thatcref in the scablets v munster game was awful. The pro 12 really does have some joke officials.
Hope you guys are enjoying DTH. His lack of presence is being felt at Glasgow.
Still, at least now we have Taqele Naiyaravoro. Hopefully he'll start lasting entire games without getting yellows soon. Plus the fact that he'll be eligible for Scotland in three years. Only he won't because they let him on the field for thirty seconds in one of the Australia warm up games so now he's an Australian.
Awesome management by the SRU as usual.
Today is going to be tricky, can't watch live so hoping to avoid news to make the replay enjoyable. Part of me thinks it could be a classic part a straightforward NZ win.
The pro 12 really does have some joke officials.
I quite like Peter Fitzgibbon (the bald Irish ref) but some of the others.... 😳
Hope you guys are enjoying DTH.
He has been pretty awesome so far, sorry!
Part of me thinks it could be a classic part a straightforward NZ win.
I have the opposite feeling that the RSA are the type of team to "upset" NZ in a RWC. If RSA can keep things tight like normal then they'll have every chance.
Have to say the lack of home nation teams means I have lost interest. Whens thecsix nations start?
If Wales continue to have so many injuries then 04/02/17

Dunno, but the Pro12 is looking interesting. Edinburgh have started well enough for a change.
I really hope we do it.
But I've a feeling NZ will beat us.
#GoBokke
Was McCaw's pass forward there?
Was McCaw's pass forward there?
Don't be silly......
the Pro12 is looking interesting
Words that should never be uttered!
I thought it was, surprised he didn't have a look at it.
Words that should never be uttered!
Rugby doesn't need to be of the highest quality to be interesting. Some of the best games I've had the pleasure to watch have been 2nd and 3rd team games.
No surprise at all.
Nz giving away penalties like France giving away tries.
Love the retro all black All Black boots
Bokies chasing the high ball well but prefer the AB straighter running
Penalty count is becoming crazy!!!!
Penalty count is becoming crazy!!!!
And very one sided. How many before a word from the ref?
There you go C'pn
I'll take that score line..
Just need to ramp it up. The ABs look rattled..
No argument on that yellow! Penalty count still stupidly high. A blend of NZ errors and SA discipline.
OT but did anyone else just see the Audi R8 advert and think its a little bit unusual to be advertising a car like that on TV? Maybe they think rugby fans have a lot of disposable income!
Great game so far.
Not seen too many replays/angles, but I immediately thought that Mccaws pass was forwards for that try.
SA haven't really looked like scoring at try, but the NZ concede a penalty whenever the get within 40 meters of the line!
AB backs disappointing - Nonu aside - esp Mlner Skudder. Poor in the air so far
Crikey, are the AB's going out here?
Andy, was more worried by Apple watch as sat navigation on a scooter advert!
SA scrum is mullering them.
Crikey, are the AB's going out here?
Unlikely.
McCaws pass was NZ-forward. ie: if it was a good phase of running rugby, then what's half a metre between friends?
Cracking game so far. Proper arm wrestle.
Good drop goal.
De Preeze face looks sore!
Poor scrum management from NZ. If you're under pressure, then the ball should go route 1. In, out, gone.
I'm not sure its that simple.
Was hoping for an upset but as Wales proved against RSA, you can't be camped in your own half and expect to win.
Gutted.
Still, was a great game.
Well the ABs will be glad to get that one out of the way.
The Boks did well to hang in there - with a bit of help from the ref - but they should have been put away.
Despite the conditions the ABs kicked it away far too much. Endless useless grubber kicks too.
Aaron Smith was poor and threw some awful passes. Kieran Read was terrible. He's had a really poor RWC. Hansen should've dropped him and it would be a big call to leave him out for the final - but he should. Read's previously limpet like hands seem to have been coated with teflon this RWC.
The pre-planned sub of SBW for Nonu was silly too. Nonu was immense and had just beautifully set up the 2nd try and then got hauled off. SBW was ok but he blew a 3-2 overlap with another pointless grubber.
Still, the ABs usually play superbly after a poor performance so look out Aus/Arg.
AA.
It really is that simple. The ball was at the No8's feet, the scrums struggling, so we'll tart around whilst the scrum half wanders off.
In, hook, 9 steps into the scrum and ball gone. 1.5 to 2 seconds tops.
But I suppose that doesn't win a penalty. 🙄
Bit disappointed over here in SA. But the guys did as well as they could. So many points through penalties - so few points (!) through tries! The AB's were the better team.
It really is that simple. Th
Yet the best team in the world cant do it?
I see Priestland has thrown in the towel for Wales. Does that allow Bath to sign Not Toby.

Watch the replay and tell me my summary is wrong. NZ don't have the best scrum in the world.
Which is why the struggle to get the ball out quickly. Just because some bloke who played 20 years ago keeps saying quick hooked channel one ball it doesnt mean it can be done easily. If it were easy everyone would be doing it when their scrum comes under pressure.
NZ don't have the best scrum in the world.
Evidence today is that they certainly don't!
Anyway, has anyone else spotted that on the pitch, there are a lot of times when McCaw appears on camera, and he looks like he's the least enthusiastic bloke on the pitch?
I would be stating the obvious if I said I thought he might retire after his one, but he does look tired of it.
The pressure the all blacks are under to win is unimaginable. I was out in nz in 2007 and the country was bat shit mental.
The pressure the [s]all blacks[/s] New Zealand are under to win is unimaginable.
There's nothing much else to do over there, apart from look at hills, or join a comedy folk duo.
Or surf, or sky, or hunt, or fish, or mountainbike, or drink wine, or eat a pie.
Sausages are shit though

I always thought Gatland's law was to not select more than 2 overseas players at a time but he was already starting more "overseas" players than that each game this RWC???
I guess too that Preistland is probably feeling a bit "Hook-like" and a bit of a spare part in the current setup and feels he needs a bit of time to challenge Biggar more for a starting position... seems fair enough
Yep nothing to do in New Zealand, the squattypotty paperclip man says so, so it must be right.
😆

The ones like North and Jiffy junior who are already abroad dont count. Roberts who has moved to Qwims (I think) will now be one, Priestland was to be the other. But now Not Toby could be one.
Jiffy Juniors Little Brother was good last night. Not big enough for Gatland though I suspect.

Wow, did you watch me play?
When I played 8 and was going backwards I'd be telling my No9 to be getting the ball away as fast as possible. I was in no shape or form a good player, but these things are the simple basic stuff you teach kids. Pro players must like to make it hard for themselves.
Argentina v Australia is shaping up to be another cracker.
I've always wondered who the coaches are talking to during the game.....
Saracens could be facing investigation after footage showed George Kruis using an earpiece against Gloucester.
Via @eatsleeprugby
I always though it would be the water carriers. Quickly on and pass on messages.
What is in the rules about coaching from the sidelines?
Pro players must like to make it hard for themselves.
Yeah obviously Keiron Read is shit and his shit coaches havent told him what to do. That shit scrum half cant help either
What is in the rules about coaching from the sidelines?
Water carriers dont tend to have earpieces but they are given instructions to take on. Medics and physios do tend to have earpieces and are often asked to pass on coaching messages. The legality of this is dubious to say the least, but who is going to say anything to the physio or doc?
"Nothing says rugby like an anthropomorphic root vegetable." 😆
From the ITM cup final commentary, this morning. I love NZ commentary!
My dad is fuming about that pass for the tey that he swears was forward. To me it looked like it appeared forward because it went upwards. A long conversation ensued about what constitutes forward.
If there was no tmo and the commentators didn't mention it it can't have been that forward surely?
If there was no tmo and the commentators didn't mention it it can't have been that forward surely?
New Zealand flat.
it is all about the direction as it leaves his hands, if it moves in the air and goes forwards it is still counted as a good pass - how the hell the ref judges that I have no idea
My thoughts and prays go to McCaw....
