@aa I hope you're wrong about Wharburton not lasting, I'd be sorry not to be able to watch him play. Maybe he needs a little break and some warm weather in the South of France.

@duckman - based on the side CFH posted you have to find a goal kicker so that would be H/P or Farrell.

I think the Lions tour caught up with Wales.

France choked, terrible weary forwards pass at the end there plus a shocker of a penalty attempt

Adieu Brian O'Driscoll.

What a fitting send-off for such a hero. (Not his best game to be fair, but he made the decision to come back in for that try so good on him.)

Well said. If the winger (sorry dint know his name) had run a better line to comi it the full back BOD would have had a fairlytale try.

Quite a chokey venue is the Stade.

Haha @deallarcey ! I haven't seen the game, oddly limited enthusiasm for finding a recording had a pair of half price tickets offered last minute but was at friends birthday bash 🙁

Trimble, which is why I'm suprised he's in that Jiffy team. He butchered that, I dont mind if a winger had just gone for it and ****ed up but he didnt draw the man or go for it. Not a single Frenchie!! Not sure Robshaw was as good as last yea but couldnt argue with him or Henry. I dont rate Heaslip either and still think Mas was the best tighthead.

I dont rate Heaslip either

He had a good Lions tour but I wasn't impressed with him in the 6N. He certainly gets around and seems to be available to receive a pass more than you'd think. However, I only ever saw him run into trouble. A very good number 8 would be expected to make far more line-breaks and he didn't do enough of that for me. Holds onto possession well when tackled, but not enough yards made. There's no doubt his self-belief won't be damaged by anything anyone says. 😀

I have no idea what Trimble was doing passing to BOD so early for that move. Thankfully BOD had the presence of mind to come back in and the move led to a try in the end anyway, so a happy ending. Other than that, I do think Trimble had an excellent 6N overall. Can't really be arsed arguing whether he should be in the team of the tournament or not. He's got the medal hanging around his neck, so he can be happy with his workload.

To be fair to Trimble he was consistently. good just lacks the finishing ability. Heaslip is more.of a third flanker type.8 like Faletau rather than big carriers like Fatty Morgan or Vunipola. Just didnt think he was tjat great.

Yep, can't disagree with that. He does lots of good stuff, but doesn't do enough of the touching down perhaps.

Trimble has been in great form for Ulster so has been picked on that basis. He scored 3 in 5 games as good as any other winger in the 6N

You couldnt leave out Brown. Maybe put 1/2p on the wing.

@duckman yes I know I was agreeing with you, either it's either 1/2p or Farrell that has to come in. Brown's been fabulous but in the real world (and I know this is a fantasy team) you need a goal kicker

Good people of the rugby thread would any of you please sponsor this ageing 17st former prop to do a leg in a half marathon.

I know that 4 miles to the fitness machines on here may not seem like much but to haul my bulk round is quite an effort.

I'm raising money for Muscular Dystrophy Campaign as my nephew has Duchenne MD which will have a terrible impact on his life.

If anyone could spare a few pounds I'd be most grateful.

Thanks

In other more positive news, Fez makes his first start for Ulster in 17 months at Embra tonight

I can't wait until Ferris is back in an Ireland shirt or even starting for Ulster against Sarries in the HCup.
This short clip from his sub appearance indicates he is in good shape, Ferris at 6 and move SOB to 8 for IRE would give us real forward momentum.

I am off to the Edinburgh v Ulster match tonight. Looking forward to it Edinburgh have been playing reasonably well of late so hoping for a good match. Coman and Du Preez in the Edinburgh back row should give Ferris a good test on his return 🙂

Ealing V Jersey tonight for me, Championship relegation decider although I suspect win or lose Ealing will be relegated unless Notingham go into administration

Enjoy your games chaps.

ijs, I think it should be a really good game, Embra have been going well of late as you say and Ulster have a very strong side out. Unfortunately its not on telly as far as I can see.

Instead of me donating to Sport Relief i will give £5 to BlindMelons fundraising but will make it £10 if Edinburgh win 😀

So I now have to cheer on Embra and wear a Munster shirt in the same weekend FFS lads talk about making the fat boy dance.

Thanks ijs that's really appreciated.

DD I'm sorry to report a Munster shirt could not be found in the black north. Even my boss who is on the 6N refs panel didn't have one. It's looking like a rain jacket will be more appropriate anyway. What about a cardboard sign hung shamefully around my neck, saying 'I love Munster'?

Someone (maybe Welsh person) made a comment that Tigers Fly Half Own Williams was a bit pants, well he's playing well for Tigers in front of the soon to depart Toby Flood.

Cockerill thinks he'll be ready for Wales soon.

However if you pit your anti cockers mindset aside for a bit, you'd see he's playing pretty well, certainly on par with whoever it was who gave England such an easy ride a couple of weeks ago. I think you'll be playing him for wales within the year.

He may go on tour, but if Patchel returns from injury ok he's next in line. Biggar is a perfectly serviceable international ten for the time being.

I've been really impressed with Williams over the past few games though he's still very young, I reckon 2-3years time Wales will have a new star on their hands.

Cockerill not always right but nice to see him putting his faith in this young lad

Have donated a tenner to BM's muscular dystrophy run in lieu of wrecker turning up to claim his tenner to charity after england beat wales this season. Good luck BM, I walked 20m without crutches and did 5 mins on exercise bike yesterday so its good to support a fellow athlete!!

Sat waiting to go into Wembley. With blagged tickets on halfway line, can almost touch the pitch.
Let's hope for a barnstormer of a match, proper blood and thunder after last years win from the 'quins

Just a little PSA for rugby fans without BT Sport - you can still watch the games by the look of it. Set my Sky to record the Irish v Bath game while we were up there - it's recorded.. also able to watch the Leicester game today.
Hopefully works for others. 🙂

Tigers suddenly looking good. It's taken a few players to return, but by the time they've got back croft, cole, tait and Parling, they'll be a match for anyone again.

Don't really think Sale will get a top-4 place (although it would be fantastic) but a top-6 HEC/Euro Cup/Whatever its going to be called place would be an amazing achievement considering where we were last season. MsD is even demanding we buy season tickets for next season!

Same attitude as last week! A poor performance by Ford and a little bit of luck to not concede a penalty try.

Sale have (pleasantly) confounded me this season - and i suspect not just me! Austin Healey said last night that looking at the squad in September you'd have laughed if someone said they would be play-off contenders in April.
Its convinced me, we are buying season tickets when they come out. That level of commitment deserves a commitment from me in return.
