..... or stick with Yosemite?

Tis a 2009 model with a 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4GB of RAM.

Mostly used for web browsing, editing photos and putting movies together with iMovie.

Upgrade or not?

Ta in advance.

No idea but back EVERYTHING up - so many stories of people losing stuff. MiL lost three years of photos...

Yeah the photos thing is a bummer. The change from iphoto to photo wasn't smooth for us either.

I took a time machine backup and to another drive all my music and photos just by copying the files.

Good luck if you try it. BTW we're on a much newer machine...

It now works for me with the same model and spec as you although my HD has being dying for a few months now so I swapped out my original HD to a new 250gb SSD and dumped ALL my files on to the cloud so effectively all the SSD has on it is the system. Runs VERY fast now!

Works well in mine of that era once I'd sorted out the completely screwed up keychain.

I'd upgrade to 8Gb and go for it. My 2010 Mac Book works a treat with El Capitan now it's 8Gb, I had no issue upgrading.

Cheers all.

I'm thinking of maxing the RAM to 16GB before upgrading BTW.

Upgrade.

You'll still have iphoto.
