Morning all

Question for the tech folk out there. I'm looking for an adaptor to let me run 2 x HDMI cables and 2 USB cables out of a USB C port (on a MacBook).

Anyone know where I can get hold of one? Google drawing a blank

This? https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0874M3KW4/

It's pricy. I have one (but I didn't pay, and they didn't pay that!)

Have you tried the Startech site?  A laptop dock would do that kind of thing, though not sure how many are Mac compatible.

I have a couple of Anker ones I think.
What are you trying to achieve?
That kind of adapter on a macbook will only let you extend your display to one HDMI.
So you'll end up with an extended display, but the extended bit will be mirrored on both external monitors/projectors.

USB C dock is what you need. Not cheap. I've a USB C Thinkpad dock at work, but they are around £200. I bought a 'used' USB 3 Thinkpad Pro Dock for home and 3 screens - just needed drivers installing.

The USB C just worked without drivers, and provided power.

not necessarily true. I've got a macbook pro running a caldigit usb-c dock and dual 4k (not mirrored) 60hz monitors, a bunch of USB ports and it powers the laptop too. Works fine. Not cheap. It might technically be using thunderbolt to pass data.

On my 2019 MB Pro I have 2 x Anker adaptors to drive 2 x screens, I have one of the ones that was mentioned with the 2 x HDMI but it does only drive one monitor. The passthrough power is handy tho & it's cheaper than a USB C dock.

I know HP docks are compatible with Macs, but you'll need to download displaylink to get it working.

Thanks all - sounds like it may be too tricky. Laptop is a MacBook Air 2020. TBH I can make do with the two screens. I'm only a lowly marketeer. It's just I had a spare screen kicking about so thought I'd put it to use.

The Macbook Air 2020 has 2 USB C ports - it's what I use.
I have 2 usb c to HDMI adapters with power pass through and USB slots to extend to 2 additional monitors. It does work.
