I've got to take two weeks off before the end of the year...due to a wobbly tenant I'm very skint so going away isn't an option...thought about working/volunteering

Any other ideas?

If you have a bike, go out on it a lot. Thats what I would do.

...and if you don't have a bike, perhaps taking up Morris Dancing? There's sure to be a club near you and I'm sure you could make great progress in a couple of weeks.

<edited as you seem to be trying to do a nice thing 😀 >
Maybe get in touch with a charity shop near you and see if you can help out?

in volunteering terms - whats your line of work? Some people do a 'social tithe': give their professional services free to a good cause. Might have more value than making up the numbers doing something you're not very good at.
