at risk of looking like a schadenfreude, i watched the gunmans footage this morning (seems to have been taken down now...)
its chilling. unbelievable that he is stood so close, with a gun pointed at the reporter for so long without her or the interviewee even acknowledging him.. then the fact that after he opens fire she has time to look at him before turning to run away! did those first few shots miss or is that adrenaline kicking in? madness.

Did anyone else watch Requiem for the Dead on Sky last night, hard to watch and makes it even harder to understand why so many Americans are against gun control.

I think Sandy Hook was a turning point, really - once the US decided that even massacring little kids was okay, the possibility of ever changing US gun control vanished.
I think there is something in that.
Living where we do, with the controls we have, I just cannot get my head around the US laws and general acceptance of guns.
But the majority of their culture and people say it is OK.
I just feel sad for the victims, and the victims to come.
